Saturday night win: my COO Grok @bot researched potential partnerships, studied how they fit, drafted outreach emails, and gave me a cheat sheet for all of them. Here is a video for you, just because why not?

Follow-up here. If you do this and send Grok Bot on an outreach assignment, make sure to set writing rules: how to open an email, what tone to strike, what to reference and leave out, how to close it. Without writing rules you will end up frustrated and correcting the work email by email.

I see so much tech bro hype on here, so here are some normal small business wins from this week with Grok @bot I host my business websites on Lovable. This week I connected Grok Bot to Lovable so it can edit my sites and push changes. So far so good. The real win: I saw a post today about growing with SEO and AI search. I sent it to my bot, it analyzed it, I reviewed the plan, and it built and published a optimized blog on my site. Maybe 5 minutes on my end. To put a bow on it, I asked Grok Bot to make a video of how we did it. Really that easy.

A day "off" with AI: - 6:30 AM: Tutor Grok @Bot creates my kid's math and reading worksheet for the day - 7:30 AM: Household COS Bot sends us the daily brief - 9 AM - 2 PM: Going for a walk, enjoying breakfast out, cleaning up, and relaxing for a bit while @claudeai worked on the leads database for the business, the COO @bot drafted emails, and @Muse handled Instagram posts

I'm listening to the latest @theallinpod episode, in it Friedberg discusses how it is the jobs/disciplines that don't need a human in the loop are the ones primed for disruption. This is such a simple but powerful takeaway. To AI proof yourself make sure your job and workflows need a human in the loop, need real world testing, and exist in the physical world.

We live in the best era. ChatGPT and Claude knocked out about two days of work for me while I went to soccer, did homework, and got a workout in. ChatGPT handled the design for the new product. I left the prototypes printing, came home to finished parts, then set up the Etsy shop and updated the site. Claude took care of the backend the whole time.

A hill I'll die on: everyone should be side-questing right now, especially those with full time jobs, why? 1 - It's great for skill development 2 - It's a hedge against job disruptions and layoffs 3 - Tax benefits of having a business 4 - It gets you out of your comfort zone and helps you grow 5 - AI made it infinitely easier to create a side quest with minimal time investment.

Most people I talk to are looking for ways to leverage AI to build apps or software products. Over the past 6 months I used it to build a hardware business and an e-commerce storefront instead. It was not useful as "AI, build my business make no mistakes." It was useful closing one gap at a time: 1. Market analysis: consumer needs, trends, and the pain points people already complain about (Grok + Claude) 2. Design: materials, coatings, manufacturing process, and specs (Grok + ChatGPT) 3. Fabrication: shop research, capabilities, existing customers, fit, and RFQ help (Grok + Claude) 4. Store: site design, deployment, and maintenance (@Lovable ) 5. Admin: email, inventory tracking, bookkeeping (Grok @bot ) 6. Social: picture and video editing (ChatGPT, Claude), scheduling and uploading (@Muse ) If you have a product idea you can't stop thinking about, AI mostly closed the gap and the timeline. It did not replace the work. Curious where people are getting stuck. Is it the market, the design, finding a shop, or the store?

Sunday morning AI for normal people and small business owners update: Here is my current "stack": - Grok @bot : household and business COOs, team of 10 bots managed by the 2 COOs. Key bots: Kid tutor, business coach, business ops, personal shopper, travel agent. - @Muse: handles fun side quests that don't require sensitive data, also handles anything in the Meta ecosystem: marketplace listings, social media tracking and analysis, and posting on a schedule (I give it the posts, it will do minor polishing and post on a schedule) - ChatGPT: Handles technical work, image editing, creating 3D files and SVGs (for laser cutting), PRDs for website development, and scheduled business/market research. - Claude: used to be my daily driver but now I mostly use it for research and analysis.

Small business owners should really look at Muse for social media help. This morning it discovered someone had done a review reel for my business (unprompted, this appeared on my feed), which allowed me to quickly react, connect with them, and repost. I'm also exploring it for scheduling posts and getting insights on how to drive engagement. I am not saying it replaces a social media team, but for those of us bootstrapping and solo-preneuring it can be super helpful. @Musecases do your thing :)

I was at a hair salon in the Bay Area earlier this week, 2 women in their 30s, both educated (came up in conversation) were discussing AI, here is what they brought up: - Could be a Terminator scenario - We could lose access to our bank accounts - It could hack into the infrastructure and we would be without water/power - The Data centers are a problem in terms of water consumption and noise for wildlife. No mention of any positive outcomes or advances in healthcare/education. There are some risks with AI and we should not bury our head in the sand, but if this is the conversation normal people in the Bay Area are having we have a huge problem. We need to approach the risks with common sense while we emphasize the benefits for humanity, why is this not happening?

Am I the only one that is loving how Muse can handle all my Facebook Marketplace listings? I have so much stuff I need to sell but hate the process of researching, writing, and creating the listing, as well as replying to a bunch of "Hi, is this still available" messages, Muse just made the whole thing frictionless. And yes, I know other agents can do this too but something about Muse being integrated with Meta just makes it much more seamless.

Ok, Muse is actually great, I am still not comfortable giving it the level of access I give Grok Bot or ChatGPT, but I am really enjoying it for small personal tasks. Some examples: - It's done a great job planning a trip for me, comparing prices, checking availability, and helping me optimize - It prepared a PDF brief I wanted to send out with minimal instructions, outcome was ready to go first shot - It has a recurring daily flight check task to monitor flight prices for me, and the output is actually more usable than Grok Bot or ChatGPT's - It prepares Facebook Marketplace listings from a couple pictures, researches the item and price, writes the listing, and can post it too.

Current models are good enough for most people and small businesses, I'd rather labs focused on the User Experience and user education for some time. Here are just some examples of how I use AI: - Created my entire website, including shop, stripe integration, and reviews - Generated all the marketing art - Polish all my iphone product photography - Make product brochures - Handle my bookkeping - Review my taxes - Create financial models and sales forecasts - Analyze my margins - Brief me every morning on my kid's school and sports emails

I’m conflicted with regard to the AI pause/slow-down. If 3 leaders who seem to pretty much hate each other and never coordinate on anything are all saying “let’s chill a bit and make sure we know what we’re doing”, maybe we should slow down, the models are sufficiently advanced for 99% of people. But also, we have the global race problem, I don’t think we will get global agreement to slow down, everyone is trying to “win AI”. Seems like we need to keep building at max speed within sandboxes and in controlled environments, while slowing down what’s available to the masses.

Someone in my network challenged me on being too AI-pilled, they are understandably concerned about all the doomsday scenarios they hear about.... But here is the thing, whatever the future looks like, being AI-savvy, understanding the technology, and being able to navigate it and maximize it are key, in all scenarios we will need these skills. Also, I don't see a clear path to global regulation, how can global superpowers regulate themselves alone while allowing rivals to make progress? Even if you believe this is essentially a nuclear bomb, countries still develop the technology for deterrence. So our best bet continues to be to learn, dive in, develop the skills, understand the technology, and we might as well have fun while we're at it.

Astra is awesome but I still want to see OpenAI and Anthropic release an agent platform over new models. The existing models are good enough for 95% of work for 99% of people, small business owners and normal people don't need a model that can render a 3D world, they need agents they can work with, a simple interface, a 1-click setup, the ability to delegate work. Grok Bot is exciting because it's the first product that shows what that promise can look like, but it's still not ready for prime time, I would rather see all these companies compete on agentic platforms for the rest of 2026.

I was so very excited to finally try Grok @bot, loved it for a full 24 hours, then had to come to terms with it's usage limits on SuperGrok. Issues with it: unlikely most AI apps you don't get daily limits, instead it resets weekly, this should have been OK, I enabled additional paid usage, problem was that despite disabling all routines and not messaging the bots they kept running in the background and consumed $7 in 3 hours with 0 input or requests from me. I am debating upgrading my plan, but for Grok Bot to penetrate the masses they really need to fix this, most consumers on entry level plans will just move on when they burn through their usage in 1 day.

If you haven't been exploring AI agents this is your sign to start, we are seeing agent orchestration platforms popping up weekly, yesterday we had the announcement on Buzz, a week ago OpenAI's Presence, we also have Hyperagent... needless to say Agent deployment and orchestration is the next consumer-level AI frontier. Everyone needs and wants agents but few are willing to learn tools like Hermes or OpenClaw, integrated Agent platforms will unlock this and we're probably 2-6 months away from entering consumer-level set-ups. Go explore, have fun, build some agents and get a head start on learning how to deploy them.

Talked to someone today whose friend is a financial adviser, and he is understandably worried his job is going to be extinct in the next five years, which is a fair read of where things are heading. My advice was to be proactive in replacing himself. 1. Record client meetings with Whisper 2. Upload to Claude 3. Have Claude map out the workflow 4. Have Claude generate App MVP 5. Upload MVP to Lovable 6. Build the app that does the basic cases 7. Use said app as a lead funnel 8. Have an entry level tier and 2 more tiers where he’s in the loop Basically start creating the systems that automate his job, own those systems, and use them to leverage his time on the higher value clients. Easier said than done, I know, but better done by him now than in the next year by someone else.
