Excited to be attending #wcss23 in Nanjing today, where I will be presenting my work on the #duobiochar project later in the week
It was great talking to school groups about the work on soil health that we do @AFBI_NI and I was delighted to find out that soils are featured more on the school curriculum than when I was at school.

I spent a lovely afternoon at the soil exhibition in the beautiful @SomersetHouse with a range of captivating displays and videos, it is well worth a visit!
Great trip to visit #DuoBiochar project partners in USA, many thanks to our hosts @nmsu, it was fascinating to see their research on practices for improving soil health in a such a challenging climate.
I am excited to be a part of @SoapboxScience and looking forward to talk about my research on using #soil microbes to reduce #nitrogen losses from #digestate application. If you are around Milton Keynes this Sunday, do stop by to hear from myself and 9 other great speakers.
Soapbox Science is a unique opportunity for scientists to share their knowledge and passion to an incredibly diverse audience.
Christina Van Midden will be sharing her expertise on microorganisms and how they can help save our food system.

I had a great time presenting both my PhD and boardgame projects @ramiran2023 - it was ace to talk on a stage where David Bowie performed. Well done to the organisers for a fantastic conference with great after conference activites, I particularly enjoyed the punting.
Thank you so much! I am very happy that you gave me the opportunity to share the game at what was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative conference.
❤️ this! Christina van Midden from @CranfieldUni introduces the 'Dirty matters' boardgame! Turning #soilscience into a fun game targeted at age 12+. To win, you must hit 6 yield targets & feed the world without catastrophies 🌾🌍 #ramiran2023 @Soil_Science

If you are a UK farmer with an interest in #intercropping then we'd absolutely love it if you could take 15 min out of your day to provide your opinions on the barriers and opportunities by filling this short survey: forms.office.com/e/jfvCZRLxN…

Love the sound of rain on a polytunnel, and amused at the irony of simultaneously watering my plants #phdlife
Highlights from #Groundswell23 :
- Brilliant talk on #farming, #foodquality and #climate; learnt how obesity is linked to nutrient poor food
- Awesome farm equipment
- #ghostponds and how to restore them
- #soilsafari
Fascinating soil safari @Groundswellaguk, zooming into soil to show healthy vs unhealthily roots and signs of earthworm activity.
