I had low-to-zero expectations of Burnham, but this abandonment of a promise made just a few short months ago puts him in the Starmer category of con-artists.
When he became PM, Andy Burnham pledged to "get everyone in for Christmas" in his drive to end homelessness.
Less than three months later, that commitment has been watered down to "veterans shouldn't sleep rough this Christmas".
And the government isn't even taking action to achieve this smaller goal. Instead, Burnham is writing to council to ask them to do it.

We need to end this myth that the private sector runs things well, and the public sector runs things badly, before it is too late.

Hi Ben, this is a truly disgusting (and cowardly) tweet. So glad I have spent the past year turning down your repeated invites to appear on your show.
For the record, this is a Jewish journalist interviewing the Jewish *author* of the IHRA antisemitism definition for Zeteo, and it is Stern himself who thinks it’s a mistake to use the IHRA definition in the way the government is.
But since you can’t engage with the substance of any of this, you resort to smear by insinuation.
