Jewell Loyd (leg) downgraded to doubtful for Wednesday.
The NBA play-in has always felt like a cash grab to squeeze a few extra dollars out of markets whose teams realistically aren’t going anywhere. The gap between the top seeds and those bottom teams is usually too wide, with the 2022–23 Heat being the obvious exception. I think it makes more sense in the WNBA because the talent gap between teams is much smaller, so a lower seed could actually make some noise.
By 2030, I would like the WNBA to adopt a play-in tournament for the playoffs.
Seeds 1-6 clinch the OFFS outright.
Seeds 7/8 play for the 7 seed.
Seeds 9/10 play, and the winner plays the loser of the 7/8 game for the 8 seed.

This reporting is accurate in the sense that the current schedules would indicate an arena conflict.
However, all Chase Center concerts have contingency dates in the event the Valkyries’ postseason run is still going on. In other words, Valkyries take priority at Chase Center ⚔️
If the Golden State Valkyries make the WNBA Finals, they will have an arena conflict with Doja Cat.
Game 2 of the WNBA Finals is scheduled on Oct. 19, the same day as a Doja Cat concert at Chase Center.

If you don't enjoy watching the Golden State Valkyries play defense, you're probably still learning the game (or you just watch for one player), and that's okay.
There's room to grow.
Because, girl, I was getting chills watching them switch, recover, close out, rotate, trap, and jump all over the Aces yesterday.
It's truly a pleasure watching a team where every player is bought in on the defensive side of the basketball.
In a league where teams averaged 90 PPG, the Valks gave up 75 PPG 😭
Gotta give credit to Natalie Nakase, Ohemaa Nyanin, and the rest of the staff.
These types of rosters don't come around often, in any sport.
