Kelp DAO Exploit: Lessons in Multi-Source Risk Verification for Institutional DeFi.
Or
It real time for @DiffuseFi
The Kelp DAO situation highlights a critical design challenge in institutional DeFi:
complex cross-protocol assets back $280M in loans, how much data visibility is enough?
It's a question all of us building in this space need to answer.
Congrats! The right person at the right time! 🎉✅
TLDR: I joined @ethereumfndn as DeFi Coordinator
1] I got introduced to DeFi back in 2019 and stuck to it ever since. As narratives appeared and faded away, my general belief in DeFi stayed. I think today, more than ever, Ethereum is the right place to grow DeFi further. I'd like to help make this vision a reality 🙏
Full pipeline of the Cap Strategy down bellow!
1/ How Diffuse Prime builds fixed on-chain yield using @capapp + @pendle_fi
Today - detailed strategy breakdown: CAP (PT-cUSD) 🧵
Let’s start with CAP itself.
It took us a little bit longer than I had planned. But we are there! 🚀
There’s no such thing as too many audits.
Security isn’t an expense — it’s an investment. 🛡️
Huge thanks to @Hashlock_ for a thorough audit - every flow tested, every edge case checked. Proud to confirm our protocol is secure with zero critical issues. Ready to scale! 🔐🚀
I personally really enjoyed the process and the level of detail the team brought while diving into what we’re building.
Especially proud to share that we had zero critical or high-severity issues identified. 🔐✨
Audit completed ✔️
Thanks to @MixBytes for the professional work. Our protocol is now confirmed secure.
Onward and building. 🚀
You can dive deep into the paper or just skim the thread. Either way, I hope you enjoy it! 📚😊
For the paper lovers, here's a gem for you to dive into 📄✨

Web3 is converging with TradFi: token revenue (finally!) matters, institutions buy DeFi tokens, RWAs move onchain, stablecoins reshape fiat.
Now prime brokerage is being rebuilt natively:
- non-custodial (I thought that it's basic stuff but in reality some risk curators are still custodial)
- Tech -> trust (zkTLS+offchain risk compute+onchain zk verification)
- Focus on minimizing the underlying protocol risk
Looking forward to see much more on web3-grade PB this year.

🤯 Check out @DiffuseFi Prime!
It’s a non-custodial prime broker that allows hedge funds to amplify yields up to 3× using overcollateralized loans.
They has already passed @Hashlock_ and @MixBytes audits.
According to my insides, several major deals are expected in THIS year.

After a 192x oversubscribed round on @legiondotcc and 272x oversubscribed round on Binance Wallet totaling nearly $800m, $YB just TGE'ed
@yieldbasis is such a beautifully simple protocol by @CurveFinance 's founder @newmichwill that actually solves a real, massive problem in crypto
Here's everything you need to know:
Yield Basis lets you provide BTC as liquidity to an AMM pool without suffering from impermanent loss
--
A quick primer on IL:
If you provide liquidity to a traditional AMM, if the underlying asset goes up in price, you'll be missing out on gains
For example:
Say you deposit 1 BTC (assuming price is $100k) and $100k of USDC into a pool
If BTC doubles to $200k, your position would automatically get rebalanced to maintain equal value in each token, so you'll end up with ~.7 BTC and $141k USDC for a total of $282k
If you had just held your BTC and USDC outside the pool, they'd be worth $300k
That ~$18k difference is impermanent loss.
Yield Basis fixes this by using some clever math to make sure the value of your LP position tracks linearly to the underlying asset's price
(More details in my memo on @bidclubio here: bidclub.io/posts/cmgpq7utm00…)
--
The protocol just increased their TVL cap from $30m to $150m, and assuming the cap continues to grow to even just $1B, we can expect a fair token price of up to $6.6
Given how much demand there was for the presale, I imagine the market clearly understands this and we'll see people sizing in on dips when presalers start to offload
Yes, we’re definitely thinking about capital efficiency!
Diffuse and @vadimicus mentioned 🫡
"This isn’t just about optimizing existing yield—it’s about introducing entirely new asset types to shared security and unlocking revenue streams that were previously unavailable"

1/ As usual, lots of great ZK news this week:

They also released the whitepaper x.com/SpaceandTimeDB/status/…
The new Space and Time whitepaper is here.
We're proud to release v2.0 of our whitepaper, which outlines the design, implementation, and utility of Space and Time. In it, you’ll find a detailed overview of…
→ Design & node ops
→ SXT economic model
→ Proof of SQL protocol design (super nerdy 🤓 )
→ Utility & use cases

1/ Catalysis has raised $1.25M in a pre-seed round led by @HashedEM. We're excited to be building the first security abstraction layer for restaking protocols.
We also thank Presto Labs, Spaceship DAO, FunFair Ventures, Cosmostation, CryptoTimes & angels for participating in the round.

Looks very impressive!
What makes our team even more bullish is the ability to provide the same restaking experience to every L2/L1 user who wants to be part of shared security—without needing to move assets to Ethereum!
As more assets are coming onchain, even more will be staked.
Staking is the core primitive driving utility and economic alignment for tokens in the crypto economy.
Restaking is still a tiny portion of that, with most of it being captured by native staking for L1s and appchains so far.
Overall, the trend is clear: staking is eating the (crypto) world; with YoY growth outpacing total market cap growth from 2021-2025. And this is without even considering ve models or other forms of staking (solely using PoS data from @StakingRewards).
Symbiotic's universal staking protocol enables builders to easily leverage staking for their tokens, be it for infrastructure decentralization bootstrapped from external assets, native staking for their own economies, or other use cases that require penalization or redistribution through slashing (e.g. insurance).
Most importantly, building on Symbiotic's framework allows projects to adapt over time without losing control (immutable core) or having to rebuild infrastructure; and extends to additional use cases as they mature. A project might typically:
- bootstrap security from external assets in the ecosystem it is building (e.g. ETH)
- introduce native staking and turn restakers into native stakers through structuring incentives
- build its own restaking ecosystem around its assets and modular infrastructure built on Symbiotic
- increase capital efficiency of assets for users through differing risk profiles/strategies of vaults (e.g. restaking to insurance use cases)
-...
Thanks to all our partners and the investors that chose to support us in realizing this vision.
This Series A will allow us to continue leading innovation in staking finance and to accelerate builders building fully onchain, decentralized systems.
