Police Investigate Vehicle & Pedestrian Collision
At 5:47 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle & pedestrian collision at Robie Street / Veterans Memorial Lane Halifax. The pedestrian sustained life-threating injuries and has been transported to the hospital. Police received reports that the same vehicle was involved in another collision near Beech Street / Jubilee Road. The driver, an adult male, has been arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance. Investigators with Patrol, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.
Traffic Blocked: Traffic is blocked in both directions on Jubilee Road and Veterans Memorial Lane between Beech Street and Summer Street. Robie Street is blocked in both directions at Jubilee Road and Veterans Memorial Lane. Traffic will remain blocked for an extended period while investigators process the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.

The Durham Regional Police are currently investigating two separate unprovoked assaults against two females that occurred within hours of one another. Police believe the same male is responsible for both assaults.
Both assaults occurred on board the GO train.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 years old, medium build, short braided hair, wearing a Toronto Raptors sweater that is black/white on the front, red symbol on the right arm, and a black circular Raptors Symbol. He also wears black/grey pants and white/black shoes.
The female in the first incident was treated on the scene, the second female was transported to a local area hospital.
If you see this male do not approach and call 911.

If you are on a road with a median strip, only vehicles coming from behind the bus must stop. (A median is a physical barrier such as a raised, lowered, earth or paved strip constructed to separate traffic travelling in different directions.

A 23-year-old female has life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle.
On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at approximately 6:20 a.m., members from Central West Division responded to a female being struck by a vehicle at Consumer Drive just east of Paisley Court in Whitby. A 23-year-old female had just exited a bus and was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle, which is believed to have run a red light. The vehicle that struck the female fled the scene and was last seen westbound on Victoria Street West from Brock Street South.
