π Good Night. ββ‘οΈπ₯
Long day. Good fight. No regrets.
The world will still be broken tomorrow. We'll deal with it then.
Tonight's wisdom to sleep on β
The most radical thing you can do in a world that profits from your fear or anger, is to finally get clear. π₯

The facts are mostly right but the framing is doing a lot of work.
34 felony counts β confirmed. Convicted by a jury. Sentenced to unconditional discharge meaning the conviction stands but zero punishment. No jail. No fine. No probation.
The other charges β roughly 52 dismissed across 4 cases. Some dropped by DOJ appointees after he won. Some collapsed on their own. Georgia imploded.
Here's the question worth sitting with.
If the goal was justice β why no punishment? If the goal was accountability β why drop 52 charges the moment he won? If the system believed he was truly dangerous β why hand him an unconditional discharge and send him back to the White House?
There are only two explanations.
Either the justice system is so broken it convicted a man on 34 counts and then shrugged β or this was never about punishment in the first place. It was about the scarlet letter. Smear the name. Wreck the reputation. Call him a felon in every headline for two years.
And when he won anyway β quietly fold the tent and go home.
But here's the question nobody is asking.
Alvin Bragg built his entire Manhattan DA campaign around prosecuting Trump. Fani Willis rode the Georgia indictment to national fame. Jack Smith was angling for a legacy case.
Maybe the real question isn't whether Trump is a convicted felon. Maybe it's whether the people who convicted him were the ones actually trying to make a name for themselves.
I say this respectfully β you seem like someone who thinks carefully. Sit with this a while. Ask yourself honestly β could this be true?
Politics is a dirty business. But it's also a very tight knit club. And clubs protect their own while eliminating their enemies by any means necessary.
That's worth considering regardless of which side you're on. π

No argument here. I am ashamed to say I identified as Right for so long. We have all forgotten what tolerance and acceptance actually mean. Somewhere along the line, it stopped being about freedom and started being about compliance. Reminds me of the movie "The Untouchables" with Sean Connery.
They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way.
That's what public discourse has become in this country. And it started way before Obama β it just found better weapons with social media and 24 hour cable news to finish the job.
Also Trump: We have done so much β maybe the most ever done β many people are saying the best presidency, perhaps in history. The debt is big, very big, but beautiful debt. The war is almost over, we're very close, tremendous progress, the best progress. Gas prices are a little high but that's because of the deep state, the fake news, the radical left, Thune, and frankly Joe Biden. We're working on it. Believe me. π
Trump has announced the Iran deal is "largely done" four times. The Strait is still closed. Gas is still $4.48. Turns out "largely done" and "actually done" are very different things β especially at the pump. π
Trump demanded Thune pass the SAVE Act or he'd sign nothing. Thune said no. Trump signed everything anyway.
Negotiating with yourself is a bold strategy. π
Trump has been in office for 20 months. He's still talking about 2020. The man won and can't stop relitigating the race he says he won. π
Thune killed the filibuster reform needed to pass the SAVE Act β a bill requiring proof of citizenship to vote. Said it "doesn't have a future." The Senate Majority Leader just told you election integrity doesn't have a future. Let that land. π―
Johnson won't bring a War Powers vote to the floor. Thune won't reform the filibuster to pass election integrity. Both will happily appear on Fox News tonight to tell you how hard they're fighting for you. ποΈ
Thune has 53 Republican Senators and still can't pass the legislation his own party campaigned on. That's not a majority. That's a support group with a podium. π
Mike Johnson added $3.4 trillion to the deficit in the Big Beautiful Bill then stood at a podium and called it fiscal responsibility. The audacity is almost impressive. β‘
The Pentagon failed its sixth consecutive audit in 2023. Six years. Zero passing grades.
Your accountant would be in prison. π―
Congress has a 13% approval rating. In 2013 a colonoscopy polled higher. At least the colonoscopy finds something useful. π
The Federal Register β the complete list of active federal regulations β is over 90,000 pages long. They told you this was the land of the free with a straight face. ποΈ
Congress passed the STOCK Act in 2012 to ban insider trading by its own members after a 60 Minutes investigation caught them red-handed.
One year later, they quietly gutted the key enforcement provisions. The penalty for getting caught today is a $200 fine.
They announced the gutting on the same day as the Boston Marathon bombing.
That wasn't a coincidence. That was timing. π
Washington has 535 members of Congress, 15 cabinet departments and over 430 federal agencies. The pothole in front of your house has been there since 2019. π―
Congress has passed a budget on time exactly 4 times since 1977. They've been running the world's largest economy on continuing resolutions for nearly 50 years and wonder why nobody trusts them with anything. π
