Zelensky has arrived in Norway with his team. He named meetings with PM Jonas Gahr St酶re, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Steve Witkoff [Witkoff's title], plus the King of Norway and MPs. Topics and deals are not stated, so results are premature. According to Zelensky, meetings are planned with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St酶re, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Steve Witkoff [Witkoff's title]. He will also meet the King of Norway and representatives of the Norwegian parliament.

Three men were killed when Russia shelled Kramatorsk on October 20, 2026, at 10:04. They were 42, 47 and 48 years old. Two more people were injured: a woman and a 38-year-old man. Doctors diagnosed them with shrapnel wounds and blast trauma. Three apartment buildings in the city were damaged. The type of weapon is still being established, so I will not guess what was used. The people hit were civilians in ordinary homes. Keep that in mind when you see one short line about another attack in a daily summary.

Putin has proposed that Trump and Xi Jinping hold a meeting on Ukraine without Zelensky, according to the WSJ. Here is how I read it: Putin is seeking this meeting because he feels he has a chance right now to persuade both leaders to finish off Ukraine. A deal about Ukraine discussed without Ukraine's president at the table is the core of the proposal. I expect a different picture after the winter. We will get through it with dignity, as we always do, and our positions will be stronger afterwards. Russia, after yet another winter of unjustified successes, will have no cards left to play. What do you think Putin wants most from a meeting like this, and how should Kyiv's partners respond to a format that leaves Ukraine out?

Overnight ballistic impacts in Kyiv (the first ones). A few hours later, new ones followed, and cruise missiles hit by morning. The consequences are heavy: energy infrastructure, a water filter manufacturing company, a schoolyard (1 woman killed), a metro station (closed indefinitely), and as always, a high-rise residential building. Cynical Russian terrorists! #Kyiv #RussianAttacks

Wie vorhergesagt: Russland schafft Grundlagen f眉r weitere Kriege.

For scale: Nazi Germany launched more than 8 000 V-1 flying bombs at London over nine and a half months in 1944 and 1945. Russia launched 8 150 long-range drones at Ukraine in May 2026 alone. What would make Moscow scale back: air defense, sanctions or a deal? 7/7

Direct damage: $195 bn by the end of 2025, up from $176 bn a year earlier, a third of it housing. Recovery needs $588 bn over ten years, per the World Bank. The main risk now is missiles: in July 2026 Ukraine downed under a third of Russia's ballistic missiles, AFP found. 6/7

Targets are widening. Hits on energy sites rose 36% in H1 2026 on a year earlier; 12 million consumers lost power at once on 2026-02-08. Then ports and shops: 67 port facilities hit in July, attacks on big grocery and delivery chains up from 11 in July to 32 in August. 5/7
9
Kyiv: 58 civilians killed in 2024, 172 in 2025, 140 from 2026-01-01 to 2026-08-21. Of those, 129 were killed by missiles between May and August, the city says. Deadliest nights: 32 killed on 2025-07-31, 30 on 2026-07-02. 4/7
17
UN-verified civilian deaths: 2 088 in 2024, 2 514 in 2025, 2 211 in the first eight months of 2026. With the injured, January to August 2026 (15 198) already exceeds all of 2025 (14 656). July 2026 was the worst month for civilians since March 2022. 3/7
11
Long-range drones per day: about 30 in 2024, 150 in 2025, 187 from January to August 2026. Ballistic missiles: about 60 a month in 2024 and 2025, 123 in July 2026 alone. Peak so far: 1 567 drones and 56 missiles over 36 hours on 2026-05-13/14. 2/7

Russia now launches six times more long-range drones a day at Ukraine than in 2024, the year before Trump took office. Civilians killed per day: up 60%. In Kyiv, deaths tripled in a year. A thread in numbers from the UN, Ukraine's Air Force and the World Bank. 1/7

Mike Johnson hesitated to broadcast Trump's opinion that the fuel problem arose because of Ukraine. He delicately stated that "it is connected to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the issue has not yet been resolved." #Geopolitics #USPolitics

One of the most striking side effects of physically wiping out the enemy's digital infrastructure. When data centers in Sasovo and Kaluga go down physically, it is not just internal search or taxi services that fall asleep with them, but entire virtual account farms that have parasitized Yandex's computing power and server arrays for years. Analysts and monitoring networks have already recorded: Collapse in bot traffic: In the first days following the strikes, the volume of tracked Russian bot traffic in Europe and the US temporarily plunged almost to a critical minimum. Plunge in destructive campaigns: Thousands of networks that spent years pushing rhetoric about "fading support for Ukraine," fake feuds between Ukrainians and Poles, and artificially inflating ratings for far-right and populist forces in Europe synchronously went dark. Loss of computing base: The destruction of two out of three YandexGPT supercomputers severely crippled the Russians' ability to generate synthetic "human" text for mass attacks. Without neural network power, bot farms are forced to revert to primitive and easily blocked scripts. This proves once again: the best and most effective "anti-spam filter" against RF hybrid aggression is precision ballistics and drones targeting their physical critical infrastructure. #CyberWar #InformationWarfare
