Russia is looking to trade this wartime expertise with its partners, and this includes drones, remote warfare, trench assaults, underground warfare, and so on.” The drills have raised questions about whether China could apply what it learns to Taiwan. Russia’s experience in Ukraine may be showing Beijing how drone swarms can overwhelm air defences. It would fit a wider push by China to build unmanned systems on a scale few other countries could match. The drills also reflect how far the balance between Moscow and Beijing has shifted. China is now Russia’s largest trading partner and a vital buyer of its oil, and Western officials say Chinese components are found in many of the drones Russia fires at Ukraine.
