This year, my contribution to @usevolta 's native support for @pnpmjs has finally released, though it's included as an experimental feature in v1.1.1 as of now. Give it a try and give feedback! github.com/volta-cli/volta/r…

And just like that, after 2+ years I no longer use NVM and now @usevolta. Literally no setup necessary. Stop caring about what version of node, npm, yarn, etc you use in each project. Plus it installs blazingly fast 🦀

#NewInWebStorm In 2022.1 release, we’ve added proper integration with Volta (@usevolta), a JavaScript tool manager. WebStorm will automatically recognize Yarn and npm installed using Volta. Feature demo by @paulweveritt: youtu.be/sKB8PjC44qU?t=77

Appreciating @usevolta today! I discovered an issue that only happened on some dev machines, and could be fixed by upgrading the node version. With the volta config in our package.json files, everyone should be using the same node version and automatically get the fix.

I have to support some large projects with mixed nodejs versions. Running builds via GitLab can be a real pain when you have to work with multiple node versions. After struggling with it for some time I decided to create a Volta Docker image (@usevolta). gist.github.com/garth/48eabf…

TIL about @usevolta. It's like NVM but easier. Imagine having specific version of Node or NPM defined in your JavaScript's package.json, and merely by installing Volta, you can "pin" that version to the file and it will auto download and use it locally. 🔥

After using @usevolta for a week, it’s hard to fathom why it isn’t the standard way of doing versioning in the node ecosystem. It runs laps around stuff like nvm. Makes me feel much safer when switching projects (and it’s crazy fast)

I always used NVM but my Terminal (on M1 MacBook) got reallly slow because of NVM, apparently its a known issue. Now using @usevolta which is actually amazing.

@usevolta is amazing 🔥 I recently stumbled upon this fast, cross-platform #Javascript tool manager, and I don't think I can go back to NVM, or any such tools to manage multiple Node environments again 👉 Read more on my blog: aalam.in/blog/hassle-free-no… #tooling #nodejs #rustlang

Here is the single most important line that every single tutorial for anything that requires Node and a package manager should start with: 1. Install @usevolta.
