In 1931, psychologists Winthrop and Luella Kellogg performed a cross-rearing study by bringing an infant chimpanzee into their home to raise alongside their infant son, Donald.
The goal was to see if the chimpanzee would grow smarter by being raised alongside a human baby.
They were looking for increases in human-like language and behaviors.
What happened was the opposite.
Donald began to mimic the chimpanzee's behaviors.
He would grunt, bark, and try to walk on all fours.
The parents ended the study after Donald’s language development came to a halt.
It turns out, stupid is contagious.
If you wear a white glove and dip your hand into a puddle of mud, the glove gets muddy.
The mud doesn’t get glovey.

This is Bonnie Pierce, a 38-year-old mother of three from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her house caught fire. She and two of her children escaped, then realized her toddler was still inside.
Bonnie went back in, found the child, but could not get out. She shielded the child with her body. She died from her burns. The child survived.
A GoFundMe for her family raised about $42,000.
By comparison, more than $1,000,000 was raised on GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her children.
It is a sad reflection of the society we have become.

Females generally tend to be more susceptible to social contagions. I don’t care if you think it’s “sexist” to point that out. It’s true. Gender dysphoria, eating disorders, “long Covid,” etc. If this becomes a full blown social contagion, a very dark future awaits us. A 38-year-old woman, Corie Walsh, has been arrested after she allegedly murdered 2-year-old son by hanging him in a basement after calling him the “Anti-Christ”, then tried to harm herself.
Prosecutors say she was heavily interested in the Lindsey Clancy trial & had been talking about it in a group chat just hours before she allegedly murdered her son.

🚨 Former Minneapolis officer Tou Thao, who was jailed in connection with the arrest of George Floyd, says he believes he was set up to be murdered in a prison attack to silence him.
Thao has stated that if he had lied and sided with the prevailing narrative, he could have avoided prison and possibly even risen in the department. He chose instead to speak what he believes is the truth because of his Christian faith.
“There’s people in government who want us dead. If we die, the truth dies.”

Thao maintains that he and the other officers were following training and that he refused plea deals requiring him to admit guilt he denies. He has repeatedly credited his faith with sustaining him through the legal process and imprisonment.

Thousands of black people rallied around Karmelo Anthony, who stabbed a white kid to death. Now thousands of women are rallying around Lindsay Clancy, who strangled all of her children to death. We have been told for years about the "radicalization" of young white men but it seems that the worst and most psychotic forms of radicalization are happening in pretty much every group but that one.

Probably worth saying, amid all of this rather dark conversation about parenting, that actually being a parent is really awesome and often fun and it brings a kind of beauty and fulfillment into your life that you could not have any other way. Most of the hard stuff — with the exception of really tragic or extreme situations, like serious medical problems and that sort of thing — is not really that hard, all things considered. The daily challenges generally just amount to minor annoyances, which only compound if you let them. So I would definitely recommend the experience.
