Before pivoting to Nira, our enterprise search product (@usefyi) was competing with Command-E during the earlier days of the space. @aguynamedben, @tauebel and team built a really dope privacy-first desktop app. I even wrote a little manifesto about the opportunity.
I also want to thank @aguynamedben and @tauebel, the founders of Command-E, and the original team for joining Dropbox and everything you all have done in helping us get Dash to where it is today. You guys bet on this space earlier than anyone and I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together. 💪🫡

I had to raise a financing round for my startup in mid 2009, a few months after the collapse of Lehman and right in the midst of the global financial crisis. A few lessons:

Just heard from a @niradotcom customer: “I would recommend Nira to anyone using Google Workspace, hands down... I consider it an essential tool. If you’re going to be using Google Drive on a large basis... It’s peace of mind. I know I don’t need to worry. It’s taken care of.”

Every single company, no matter what size, has document access-risks that they don't know about. Why? Because it’s so easy for any employee or vendor to share company information. Let me explain…

Most companies ignore their document access problems and never have enough visibility into who has access to what. This ignorance is exactly what leads to leaks, breaches and lawsuits.

“the job is literally what i wish i could have done early in my career” said @marieprokopets about the Inbound Marketing Specialist role we just opened at @niradotcom. And she’s a beast. DM me if you’re a writer and into learning fast. Would love to share the role with you.

The news is full of stories about document leaks. Breaches that are the result of employees stealing documents or information being leaked to the press. What’s not being said is how accidental sharing plays a huge part in these incidents.

It'd be nice if Google figured out that when I visit Drive I want it to default to my work account and when I visit YouTube I want to use my personal account. Almost as if reversing linked lists and searching red-black trees isn't everything you need to build good applications.

It’s been a month since we pivoted to @niradotcom from @usefyi. June was a whirlwind and I’m excited to announce some new things in July. I’ll also be sharing more about what we’ve built and why every organization needs it. Tell your IT people about it! nira.com

Meetings fall into the following categories: “Why am I here?” “When will this end?” “We need another meeting.” “What a productive meeting!” “I think I’m in the wrong meeting.” “Did I remember to wear pants?”

Things I don’t miss about the office... “I have to be the last person to leave.” “I have to say yes to every meeting.” “I have to drink coffee to stay awake.” “I have to eat lunch at lunch time.” “I have to work at my desk.” “I have to dress the part.”
