Respiratory viruses are here to stay...
Late summer, early fall rise in viral infections should prompt preventative measures such as vaccinations for Influenza, COVID-19 & RSV. Equally important is timely diagnosis and treatment if any symptoms develop to prevent worse outcomes.

Two rare diseases just showed up on Long Island. Here's why.
Cyclosporiasis. Legionnaires'. Now add Bourbon virus and "rabbit fever" to the list of illnesses hitting New York this summer.
The culprit? Wild temperature swings are bringing more deer and mice into our backyards — and where they go, disease-carrying ticks and deer flies follow.
-Bourbon virus — spread mainly by lone star ticks, potentially deadly, no cure or vaccine.
-Tularemia ("rabbit fever") — jumps from rabbits, rodents, and hares to humans via tick or deer fly bites.
The fix isn't complicated: long sleeves, long pants, and a good tick check — especially if you're hiking, mowing, or spending time in wooded areas.
Small habit, big protection.
