Our average CREC congregation has a median Lord's Day attendance of 86. In 2023, our average was around 65. This offers a statistical sense of our growth in local bodies. Granted, many of these are newborns, which testify to the denomination's growth through the dominion mandate, but we are also seeing the grandparents of those newborns move to CREC congregations.
As I traveled from 2023-2026 around the U.S. and the world, it became clear that many of the grandparents were moving to be near children and grandchildren; they were coming mostly from non-Reformed backgrounds, but quickly adapting to the culture and liturgy of our churches. It was always encouraging to hear them talk about the joy of sharing hymns and festivities with their family.
I believe our denomination's culture has a bonding power among the young and old, and this environment has played a large part in our growth over the last 36 months.

Yes, and in reality, you will know them by their disciples, and the disciples of such men have largely produced leftist politics at the presbyterial level (Keller). For instance, see what kinds of overtures are coming out of the Metropolitan New York Presbytery (hint: Overture 46 in May 2021, "Seek Asian American Flourishing ") and, at the standard evangelical level, cultural surrender (Platt)—think BLM, CRT, Political neutrality, etc.
Replying to @lukestamps
Keller ministered in Manhattan. So, yes, he warned against the idols of sex, money, and power. Platt ministered near Mountain Brook. So, yes, he warned against avarice and acquisitiveness. If you can't read a book and make sane adjustments to your life and context, that's on you.
Day 4 without power after the hurricane, and the lesson once again is, "Be a member of a local church, serve one another, and watch the body grow in love for Jesus."
O Lord God, who rulest over the winds and the seas: we beseech thee for thy protection in this time of need, especially for Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. For in thy wisdom, thou governest over all things according to thy divine providence.
We praise and glorify thy holy Name, and therefore we boldly implore thee to protect us this day from Hurricane Isaias and all those whom these storms threaten. In thy kindness, deliver us, our homes, and our places of worship, and protect our bodies from physical harm. And we especially pray, most merciful Father, that thou wouldst speedily undo the force and brutality of such a storm, and in doing so, we would give thanks to thee, Ruler of heaven and earth. We pray all these things for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen!
~A prayer based on 1928 BCP
We had our monthly Vespers service last night—as we wait for Isaias to land here in Pensacola—surrounded by God's people lifting one another up in heartfelt prayer and song. As we prayed, a beautiful pinkish glow streamed through the stained glass, as though the evening itself were joining us in praise. The whole thing was splendid! Thanks be to God!

Pastor Kyle Lammott addressed Council on the last day by reminding us that "We cannot afford cowardice disguised as holiness, or recklessness disguised as courage.” But that we should "... run in such a way as to win the prize. Yet there is no promise of safety in this race. We run in the midst of wolves.”
If God heals me through this season, it is for one reason: he used the effectual prayers of righteous men. My deep gratitude goes to my close brothers at Athanasius Presbytery and Pastors Wilson and Smith, who gathered everyone after Council to pray for God's healing hands. And even locally, my flock has lifted me up in fasting and prayer again and again. I am truly humbled by this providence.
Psalm 103:2–3 — “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.
Remember when George Barna argued that the “Church is no longer where we run to be saved, but where we must run from if we truly want to find God?" Yeah—he was really wrong. Barna's ecclesiology has condemned many souls to hell.

After Darryl Cooper’s “chief villain” comment on Tucker Carlson, I cringed but tried to give the benefit of the doubt to Tucker. I reasoned it may have been a poorly deployed attempt to take Pat Buchanan’s position, which is basically that the British March 1939 guarantee was a blunder Britain could not honor, that it helped push Hitler into the Molotov-Ribbentrop deal, and that Poland was not saved. He still treated Hitler as the aggressor and Nazism as something to oppose. There are weaknesses with that analysis, but Buchanan also made all the necessary qualifications about opposing Nazism and saw Hitler as the villain.
It was an argument against security agreements more than it was about winning WWII once started.
Tucker, on the other hand, sows confusion. Recently, in his Rees-Mogg interviews he said: “I’m certainly not here defending Hitler” before arguing that Hitler’s case on the Polish corridor was “true.”
He keeps implying that somehow losing WWII led to the demise of Great Britain as if the current conditions are the direct result of winning that war and not the centuries long embrace of liberalism as an ism before and after the war and illustrated much more indictable by other periods and events. If anything, Chamberlain’s “peace in our time” is more illustrative of the liberal spirit than Churchill’s bullishness.
With Piers Morgan in November 2025 he pressed why winning “destroy[ed] Britain” and pointed at London: “it was ninety-nine percent [white] in nineteen forty-five” and is now on track, in his telling, to a white minority.
With Rees-Mogg he said the UK “destroyed their empire and their country fighting this war that they still pretend was a good idea, but it wasn’t.” He asked: “Has the UK benefited from it?” and “Is it a better country than it was?”
Simultaneously, he also has defended Pakistani immigration and implied it’s not a threat to Great Britain. In that same Morgan interview from 2025 he said “I’m not hating on the Muslims at all,” “I like the Bangladeshis better than I like the liberal whites in your country a lot more. They’ve never yelled at me,” and “I have more in common with the sincerely religious Pakistani cab driver than I do with anyone who works at the Times of London” or “the average Guardian staffer.”
He called “hate the Muslim” “an op,” while still saying England is “pretty filthy” and that the things that made it England “are going away because there are different people living here.”
I can only conclude that I gave Tucker a benefit of the doubt he did not deserve. At this point he’s just being historically inept with his simplistic cause and effect, applying it haphazardly, blaming Churchill for Great Britain’s current demise, while simultaneously encouraging part of that very demise himself.
May fundamentalism spread rapidly.
Fathers: don't raise your daughters to mimic the secular screeches of Candace Owens, and don't raise your sons to embrace the smirking nihilism of Tucker Carlson.
Viva, Brazil! May their fortunes be restored, and may the pagan Marxists fade into history's shadows!
What we are witnessing in Brazil is the biggest political backfire in modern political history.
Communist tyrants came after Brazil’s Trump, Jair Bolsonaro.
He survived an assassination attempt.
They banned him from running for office.
Then they threw him in jail.
They accused him of attempting a coup after his election was stolen, just like they did here to Trump.
He’s currently serving a 27 year prison sentence.
The response: His wife won a Senate seat. His son Carlos won a Senate seat. His son Renan won a seat in Congress. His son Flávio is ahead of Lula for president of Brazil.
His son could unseat the very tyrant who threw him in jail.
The persecution of Bolsonaro has backfired into a political retribution against those who weaponized Government against the people's will.
You might be able to try to silence a man but you cannot silence a movement.
Congratulations, brother! Looking forward to delving into your Zephaniah commentary!
What a wonderful whirlwind of a week! It began Sunday with worship at St. Mark, @uribrito filling the pulpit and a host of visitors in town early for events surrounding the CREC Triennial General Council. Monday evening included a fellowship gathering with some smooth jazz from @reedpittman trio and I received in hand my new commentary on Zephaniah, _Gather the Nations_ published by @AthanasiusPress. Meetings Tuesday through Thursday were punctuated by exhortations, robust singing, and fellowship around meals and in passing, but the worship service Wednesday night was definitely the high point. Some @FightLaughFeast events Friday night, and then caught talks by Joe Boot and @thisisfoster with my daughter today. But to cap it all off, my grandson, and first grandchild, was born healthy and hale tonight just before 8 PM! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! #Gramps

My exhortation to the @crechurches at our recent council.
jaredrlongshore.com/2026/10/…
"I have only had the privilege of serving in this communion for five years, and there are many brothers among us who have been running the race and throwing punches for a long time. My exhortation is simply that we not stop, and that we not stop particularly given the sea change."
