my neighbor has been receiving two grocery deliveries every friday for months. i always assumed she had a big family. yesterday, the delivery guy accidentally left one of the bags outside our door, so i took it over to her. she laughed and said, "oh, that's for the old man upstairs." turns out, there's a retired gentleman living alone on the third floor. he doesn't use delivery apps, and his pension barely covers his expenses. so every friday, she orders enough groceries for both of them.

For 9 days, something in my flat chirped every 40 seconds. I changed the battery in all 6 smoke alarms. Still chirping. I called the fire department. They found nothing. That night, it chirped again.
