it mines and gives off noticeable heat
perfect if - like me - your hands get cold in the winter.

Bitcoin is money. Use it as such.
Bitcoin was designed to be money. Somewhere along the way, people became so obsessed with its price that they forgot what money is supposed to do.
Money is supposed to move. It should allow people to exchange value, pay for goods and services, and participate in an economy without asking a bank for permission.
Yet we have reached a point where spending Bitcoin is treated by some as a mistake. People celebrate every new all-time high but rarely talk about how much of their daily lives they can actually pay for with Bitcoin.
That is a problem worth thinking about.
A monetary system does not become useful simply because millions of people own its currency. It becomes useful when people can earn, save, and spend that currency in the real world.
Think about travel.
You can hold Bitcoin for years, but when you want to book a place to stay, you're often pushed back into the same payment systems Bitcoin was designed to offer an alternative to.
This is the gap we're working to close at Hodlstay.
We want more hosts accepting Bitcoin, more travelers paying with Bitcoin, and more economic activity happening directly between people.
Holding Bitcoin matters. Building an economy where Bitcoin can actually circulate matters too.
The future of Bitcoin isn't just about how much one bitcoin will be worth.
It's also about what you can do with it.

Bitcoin isn't just an asset; it's a practical tool for daily life. ⚡️
Through the Lightning Network, micro-transactions become instant, seamless, and affordable. Here’s a quick look at local students using sats to buy everyday essentials at Jabulani Shop no. 3. From micro-payments to everyday retail, Lightning makes Bitcoin spending simple and accessible for everyone. 💡

Things rbitcoin will joke about:
• the ™️ in our bio
• being 0.8
• not having a UTXO set
Things rbitcoin won't joke about:
• consensus
Find a block or tx where we and Core disagree? That's not a meme, that's a GitHub issue. Please file it.
Unpopular opinion:
Owning Bitcoin on an exchange isn’t the same as holding your own keys.
You may have exposure to the price.
But you’re still trusting another person to give you access to your BTC.
That trust has a cost.
Self-custody also comes with responsibility:
Lose your keys, and you lose your sats.
Be honest:
Do you self-custody, or do you still use an exchange?🔸

Ever wondered what happens when Bitcoin software versions stop agreeing?
Bitcoin isn’t run by one app. It’s a set of consensus rules enforced by nodes.
When versions disagree on what’s valid, a block one node accepts can be rejected by another.
If miners and nodes split into two rule sets, the network can partition and form two chains.
That’s a fork: sometimes a compatible soft fork, sometimes an incompatible hard fork.
Users, wallets, exchanges, and miners then decide which chain has economic value—often the one with more adoption, not just hashpower.
Risks: replay attacks, confused balances, exchange losses, and double-spend exposure across chains.
So upgrades need coordination, clear activation rules, replay protection, and time for infrastructure to update.
Bitcoin doesn’t “auto-merge” disagreement. Consensus is social and technical—and the market ultimately votes.

ppl like to talk about "taste", but IMO what's important is vision
if you can sense/see/feel the _shape_ of a solution or problem, then in our new experimental era of software, once you can see the Opening Thread, you're nearly done
by consuming more high-signal non-slop fundamental papers/books/talks, you train your Wetwear pattern matching system (satori!) to recognize more and more shapes, to further identify new Opening Threads, leaving solutions you never actually had the time to work out in your wake

Today a co-worker who was once very sceptical about Bitcoin proudly told me that he bought his first Satoshis on the weekend. Quote: "I feel like it's the first time ever I own something that the government really can't take away from me."
Hyperbitcoinization is happening! 🍻🚀
Let’s be honest here for once: NGAF about tradeoffs. Bitcoin users want a salesperson who promises complete sovereignty and foolproof safety. Show any caution or limitation in your custody scheme and people will just go with whatever the overconfident salesperson is pushing. Human nature.

My Paw Paw buried gold somewhere on our family land preparing for the collapse of America. He died with his secret. The land was sold. The gold was never found.
Now I look at hardware wallets and wonder how many of us are becoming Paw Paw 2.0. 😂
Generational wealth is only generational if the next generation can find it.
so is this useful at all?
not really. but we can now confirm with certainty that the executable people downloaded matches satoshi's published source code exactly 😄
some other archeological fun facts:
- satoshi used windows xp with mingw
- he upgraded binutils halfway through the project
- he shipped a debug build, but turned on max optimization for one file: the hashing used for mining
- the exe everyone calls v0.1.0 is actually v0.1.1 and was compiled two days after satoshi announced v0.1. the original launch-day binary seems to be lost
