Commemorating Women’s Month in South Africa this August, UNESCO took part in @UnivOfPretoria's inaugural Women & Girls in STEM Symposium 05 -06 August 2026, in partnership with @DBE_SA, @dstigovza , L’OréalSouth Africa and the National Research Foundation.
The programme brought together over 100 young girls from across Gauteng, to inspire them to dream bigger, ask bold questions, build robots, solve real-world challenges & discover that they belong in laboratories, engineering firms, boardrooms, research centres & innovation hubs.
Because when we invest in girls, we invest in a better future note just for South Africa but for the wider Southern African region.

Quality assurance is the foundation of trusted, relevant and future-ready higher education.
This week, @unescoROSA and @UNESCOWindhoek are convening Botswana and Namibia to strengthen quality assurance, foster regional collaboration and advance excellence in higher education.
As part of the ongoing regional training on heritage interpretation and storytelling, participants took up on a site visit to Nswatugi and Pomongwe Caves as well as World View in Matobo Hills, Zimbabwe.
#AfricaEuropePartnerships #CulturalHeritage #SustainableTourism
The field visit provided an opportunity for heritage practitioners to see how interpretation can transform a visit into a meaningful journey of discovery by observing the sites through the lens of a visitor.
