Gosh…can you IMAGINE how proud Eric would be that something so awesome has come out of something so tragic? We miss Eric every day, but what a wonderful way to honor his memory.
September 23rd is Eric Montross' birthday and has become #MontrossDayofService, a yearly tradition to remember the great Tar Heel and honor him by giving back to community.
The third edition organized by @TheRamsClub this past Wednesday was the largest and most impactful one yet 🩵

With not time left on the clock, NC State only needed to kneel down in the endzone to beat Vanderbilt.
Here's what happened:

No. 2 Duke came to Chapel Hill unbeaten and had given up only four goals in seven games. No. 7 #UNC matched that, with Lilliah Blum recording a brace and an assist as the Heels rallied from a one-goal second-half deficit for a 4-2 win before 6,791 lively fans. THAT’S MY MOMMA 🥹❤️
Read for a sneak peak into what an amazing woman she is.
Someone who always lets the light shine on others & often goes unnoticed for every ounce of work she has put in! More than blessed to have you as my role model.
The woman who does it all. @kbomba
Kelly Bomba has spent more than two decades helping shape Indiana Athletics behind the scenes. Today IU’s Executive Associate Athletic Director for Administration and a member of its senior leadership team, Bomba spent much of her career in fundraising and development.
She helped lead two major IU Athletics capital campaigns that raised more than $300 MILLION combined, funding projects that transformed Indiana Football’s physical home—including Memorial Stadium’s North and South End Zone facilities and the Terry Tallen Indiana Football Complex.
Bomba oversees the I-Association for IU letterwinners, and leads Women’s Excellence, the fundraising/engagement initiative she helped launch in 2021. IU says Women’s Excellence has generated more than $8.65 million in gifts and pledges.
Kelly is married to Matt Bomba, who played for Bill Mallory at Indiana. A close Mallory family friend, IU actually selected Kelly to give one of the tributes at Mallory’s 2018 celebration of life.
Kelly has dedicated her career to Indiana Athletics and has helped to build the infrastructure around the Indiana University football program for decades.
Some people build a football program on Saturdays. Others spend decades helping build everything around it.

After #UNC fell a win short of a national title in Omaha, Scott Forbes had strong examples of Carolina coaches who overcame that kind of heartbreak to win national titles. Roy Williams, who calls Forbes "Scotty Boy," gave the Tar Heels coach words of wisdom. Link in the replies.

One year ago today, we lost an incredible man.
He was a patriot, leader, and beloved father and husband.
He was kiIIed for speaking the truth.
Today we honor the life of Charlie Kirk, an American hero 🇺🇸

Well since I've had an influx of Hoosier fans. Let me do an introduction. First congratulations on winning the national championship. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the beatdowns inflicted on Alabama and Ohio State.
This maybe the first time many of you have interacted with fans/alums of an HBCU especially in football. We do have a history. In 1988 we played in the NCAA Mens Soccer Championship game, where current ESPN FC host Shaka Hislop was our goalie, losing by a score of 1-0 We later played at Bloomington in 89 losing again 1-0.
We've met three times in mens basketball last meeting in 2017. This is our first time meeting in football.
I'm sure you've used the interwebs to look up Howard Bison football.
Here is a brief history of who we are:
HOWARD FOOTBALL | THEN & NOW
Howard University, a private historically Black research university in Washington, D.C., was founded in 1867. Howard football began in 1893 under Charles Cook and became part of the foundation of Black college athletics. Howard was a founding member of the CIAA in 1912 and later a founding member of the MEAC in 1970, where the Bison compete today. The program has a history stretching more than 130 years, including Black College National Championships and generations of players and coaches who helped shape HBCU football. 🦬🔵🔴
THE RECENT ERA: Larry Scott took over in 2020 and helped return Howard to prominence, leading the Bison to back-to-back MEAC championships and a Celebration Bowl appearance before departing for Auburn following the 2025 season. In January 2026, Howard brought one of its own home, naming former All-American Bison quarterback Ted White (HU ’98) head coach. White, a former MEAC and Black College Football Player of the Year with more than two decades of coaching experience, now leads the next chapter of one of HBCU football’s historic programs.
The MEAC is our current conference since 1970. We have six football schools. Long story that I'm too pissed off to go into. Thus we have to seek out an extraordinary amount of out of conference games.Which lead Howard being on Indiana's schedule for this season.
We are an FCS program but play FBS programs on a yearly basis. Rarely back to back like this season. The reasons are obvious. We interact with mostly HBCU football alums but not exclusive its just our orbit.
Again Bison Nation look forward to playing the reigning national champions at their place this weekend and interacting on this app before and during the broadcast.

The idea was hatched in the summer of 1998 when Paul Rizzo, the former vice chairman of IBM and later dean of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, was frustrated on a Friday afternoon of not being able to get a tee time on his home club. He mused to two colleagues at the Franklin Street Partners financial advisory firm where he was a partner, "What would it cost to build our own golf club? Golf only. No pool and no outside events." The result opened exactly 25 years ago today on 9-7-01: @OldChathamGC. (@MontyShots photos)

Indiana football QB Josh Hoover : Called arriving at IU a "culture shock."
On trying to develop under Cignetti: "It's a continuous process. It's never good enough, and you've got to show up every day and earn it. You have to earn the right to win, that's the part I love."

Played a really cool golf course yesterday. Finley Golf Club is UNC’s home track & it’s fantastic. College sports are just so sick so anytime you see an iconic school’s logo & facilities it’s special. Seeing it at a really good golf course is even cooler 🔥

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.
In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.
When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.
She built her county an entire hospital.
She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.
In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.
In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.
And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.
She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸
