Where did the second adhan for Jumu‘ah come from?
The Prophet ﷺ did not institute the second adhan for Jumu‘ah, nor did Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. It was introduced during the caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan رضي الله عنه in response to a practical need.
When circumstances change, can new mechanisms be introduced to fulfill established Islamic objectives?
