Johnson has said he can’t open his phone because he has forgotten his password and MI5 has said they can’t try unlock it as too many tries will lock it forever. It is very easy, ring Apple/Samsung they will recover your phone for you if you prove it is yours. Simple.

Canny ploy. When services are slashed to the bone, govt can point to ‘greedy’ workers. – at City of London, London
Treasury minister John Glen confirms public sector pay rises - but "no new borrowing or spending" to fund them. Instead it'll be "greater efficiency and reprioritisation within existing budgets" 😕

I don’t know about you but if there is no serious criminality, abuse of power or corruption the private lives of public figures are of no concern to me.

Memo to the BBC. Stop playing the game your enemies want you to. Relegate the Huw E story so low down the bulletins it disappears. Lead them on the story of a former PM who said he would hand over all his texts to an inquiry failing to do so in defiance of a court order 1/2

It might have been more honest of you to declare your conflict of interest: your husband being Director of Legal for The Sun. I didn't realise jaundice was infectious, Dr.

🎗38 years ago today the French government bombed the Rainbow Warrior, a ship of peace activists in Auckland. I was a crew member that day and I'm asking for a full apology from the French Government.

Want to have your local river designated as bathing water? Not unless there is at least 100 swimmers a day using that bit of river and toilets within 500 metres (1,640ft) you won't. You'd almost think govt were trying hid something. They are; sewage. thetimes.co.uk/article/gover…

Notwithstanding the cinema chain’s financial issues, that building looks like something that would have been erected in the 1970s and torn down by now. What were the planners at @LewishamCouncil thinking when they gave it the nod? – at Greenwich, London
The proposed Lewisham cinema looks in difficulty. Empire Cinemas, chosen to run the Gateway development cinema, has gone into administration. With the Play Tower development looking an ever more distant prospect we are thankful for @CatfordMews

Some of the automated (AI?) train announcements at London Bridge are *hilariously* bad. Pronunciation all over the shop. 😂 – at Camberwell, London

Grant Tucker tells #TimesRadio it ‘seems absurd’ Nigel Farage’s bank account was removed for political reasons. “I do feel uncomfortable that banks just decide who and who shouldn't, based on their political views.” @GrantTucker| @GrainneMaguire | @hugorifkind

So this is a great piece. From lambasting "pseudo pubs" to the photo of a pub turned into an Enterprise car hire shop - oh the irony... ft.com/content/ecc6f2ef-b4ea…
