ALT His connection to the University of Ghana dates back to 2003, when he was part of the very first cohort of Physiotherapy students. It was here that Dean, Ing. Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, taught him Biomechanics. He still vividly recalls his course project on calculating how much weight a pregnant woman can safely carry on her back, based on spinal load evaluation. Prof. Effah Kaufmann fondly recounted that he was the best student in the course. Prof. Effah Kaufmann was a member of the University of Ghana committee that prepared the proposal for establishing the Physiotherapy programme, and she was among its pioneering lecturers. Today, Prof. Appiah-Kubi leads pioneering research at the intersection of virtual reality and biomechanics. It was a wonderful moment of reconnection, reflecting on a journey that began in a classroom in Legon and has grown into a distinguished academic career in the United States.
