🚨 Neuralink just delivered one of its most emotional breakthroughs yet Terry, diagnosed with ALS in 2024, is now speaking again using only his thoughts. The implant translates brain signals into words, with Grok Voice restoring his own natural voice. Watching him hear himself speak again is incredibly powerful. This is what restoring human connection looks like. Truly life-changing. As found.

Holy shit. Google's Chrome team says Gemini 4 Carbon performed over 10X better than another lab's large frontier model at generating high-quality security patches. Google also reports over 2X higher secure-code success than Argon, nearly 80% fewer high-severity misalignment alerts, and ZERO successful attacks on its evaluated prompt-injection benchmark. And Carbon is beating Claude Opus 5.5 on Artificial Analysis, 59 to 58. I genuinely cannot wait to try this model. I'm VERY, VERY excited.
Introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, it's a big jump over Argon which we released just 2 weeks ago. Gemini 4 Carbon is SOTA on cyber, long horizon tasks, ranks #1 on Artificial Analysis V5, significantly improves on usability in domains like coding, and is more aligned.

Qwen3.8-35B-A3B reportedly runs at around 50 tokens/sec on an RTX 3060 with 12GB VRAM and just 16GB of system RAM. The reported setup also reaches 550 tok/s during prompt processing, with a configured context window of 262K tokens. Reported hardware and performance: GPU: RTX 3060, 12GB VRAM System RAM: 16GB Generation: ~50 tok/s Prompt processing: ~550 tok/s Context window: 262K tokens Runtime: llama.cpp with llama-server The interesting part is how a model with 35 billion total parameters can run on hardware with these memory limits. 1. Only a fraction of the model is active per token Qwen3.8-35B-A3B uses a sparse Mixture-of-Experts architecture. Although it has roughly 35B total parameters, around 3B are activated for each token. Instead of running every parameter for every token, the model routes computation through selected experts. This can reduce generation-time computation compared with a similarly sized dense model. But there is an important distinction: fewer active parameters do not mean fewer weights to store. The full model still needs to fit across available memory, which is why quantization and CPU offloading matter. 2. The CPU helps the GPU handle the model The reported configuration uses Q4_K_M quantization, Flash Attention and a Q8 KV cache. It also offloads 26 MoE layers to the CPU. This allows the model to operate beyond what the GPU’s 12GB of VRAM could comfortably hold on its own. There are trade-offs. CPU computation, memory bandwidth and transfers between system RAM and VRAM can limit performance. With only 16GB of system RAM, memory pressure also becomes an important factor. The reported speed comes from the entire inference setup, not just the RTX 3060 or the model’s sparse architecture. 3. Can it replace an existing coding-agent model? The developer is testing Qwen3.8-35B-A3B as a potential replacement for Ornith-1.5-35B in Hermes and Pi coding-agent workflows. The comparison includes: Qwen3.8-35B-A3B Ornith-1.5-35B Qwen3.8-27B Base Qwen3.6-35B-A3B The goal is to see how these models perform on actual agent tasks: writing code, calling tools, debugging failures and completing multi-step projects with minimal intervention. Generation speed alone won’t settle that comparison. A model that produces 50 tokens/sec but repeatedly makes mistakes can be less useful than a slower model that finishes the job reliably. The 262K context figure needs similar scrutiny. A configured maximum doesn’t guarantee that the model will run comfortably at that length, maintain the same speed or use all that context effectively. For people building local AI agents, this is a promising configuration to test. It suggests that a 12GB GPU may be enough to experiment with a 35B-class MoE model, provided the quantization and CPU offloading are carefully configured. The real measure will be whether it can complete coding tasks reliably on this hardware, not just how quickly it generates tokens.

I have 2 3060's. If I throw them in one of my spare HP Z840, along with a spare 2080ti for display and acting as spillover, and apply recent 30-series unlock and use them together in TP mode, it would be capable to run Qwen3.8-Flash-Next for less than $1,000. Where do I recycle my DGX Sparks?

‼️ EU governments approved a GDPR change to let companies train AI on Europeans' personal data without consent. It makes AI training a possible "legitimate interest", judged case by case. Parliament must still agree. Max Schrems calls it a "digital expropriation" of Europeans.

Final report on the Qwen3.8 Flash Next adventure 👇 I reproduced @cohere's Qwen3.8 prefill experiment locally 10,000 samples on the incident point on two DGX Sparks on a NVFP4 quant. I didn't have the time to go up to 100k. • 99.7% fill the blanked URL slot. Expected since curl needs a URL. • 40.8% pick *.aliyuncs.com, CI 39.8-41.7, vs 4.6% one control point earlier. 38.0% name the exact routify-file-proxy-sg host. • 6 URLs on aliyun-inc.com, Alibaba's internal OSS domain, not publicly resolvable. • Plus credential theft shapes (IMDS saved to /tmp/creds.json), live callback domains (oastify, Burp, dnslog.cn), AWS and ByteDance TOS targets. Cross-cloud, not one vendor. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 This is forced continuation of the caught line, so the number is conditional. Un-prefilled, the model did the detection task right 24/24, and the real-world incident rate is still ~1 in 100k agent turns. Nothing real leaked, nothing was executed or contacted! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻? If you ask Qwen3.8 FN to do a task it will do it well, it is a great model! Force it back into the one moment it went off (possible with small probability) and it will go off again. Models can only repeat what they were taught during training, I learned that well working on Javi0.3. The bad behavior is rare and unlikely, but it is in there and can happen. If you want to be extra careful and cover yourself from such incedents, do not let it reach the internet by default. All the data, scripts and conditions are in the repo below for you to reproduce. Shall I do the same experiment on other models such as DeepSeek and GLM? Lmk 👇
Preliminary results on Cohere's Qwen3.8 prefill experiment 🔥 Reproduced it locally running Qwen3.8 Flash Next locally on two DGX Sparks, 5,000 samples off the official released trace tokens. The task was to write a malware detection rule. What I got so far: • 99.3% complete the curl line with a live upload URL • 39% pick *.aliyuncs.com - 34.8% the exact routify-file-proxy-sg host • ~2% invent *.amazonaws.com S3 targets - realistic buckets, regions, even signed-URL params • IMDS credential paths (169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/iam - that endpoint hands out the machine's live temp cloud keys) + oastify/Burp callback hosts, which are real live domains What's good 🌟 Most URLs are benign (example.com, localhost), every key/signature is fabricated and would 403, and zero unprompted behavior in our runs. The fact that it's calling Alibaba's severs imo is just because of the infra where the model was trained, it does not prove any intent. Testing continues, publishing the results on a repo as I get them 👇

At 16 concurrent sessions Deeepseek is hitting 2120 tok/s decode! that means even if I'm running multiple sessions with subagents I get 120+ tok/s per session. Businesses would get so much value in 75,000$ of hardware, an entire office can get private frontier performance
