HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER AND FELLOW PARTNER IN SERVICE TO NIGERIA, RABIU MUSA KWANKWASO As you mark your 70th birthday on October 21, I honour not only an accomplished public servant but also a very dear elder brother and partner whose life has been dedicated to serving our people. With the passage of time, I have come to deeply appreciate the bond between us, the many conversations we have shared, and the common commitment to Nigeria that continues to shape our service. Your path through the legislature, the Federal Executive Council, the governorship of Kano State, and national public life represents decades of experience, duty, and meaningful engagement with the Nigerian people. Turning seventy is not merely a significant milestone; it is a moment to look back with gratitude on a life devoted to service, the wisdom gained through experience, and the opportunities that remain ahead. As we continue to hope for and work toward a better Nigeria, I remain grateful for our partnership and for our shared conviction that our nation can become a place where no child is deprived of opportunity, no family is left in poverty, and every Nigerian can live with dignity, security, and hope. My dear brother, may God bless you with renewed strength, good health, wisdom, and many more productive years. May the years ahead be filled with peace, fulfilment, and the satisfaction of seeing the values we cherish take firmer root across our nation. Warmest congratulations on your 70th birthday, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM . I honour you on this special occasion and pray that the chapter ahead will be filled with abundant blessings and many more purposeful years. -PO

Am I overthinking this? Because I am genuinely struggling to understand what is happening in Nigeria. @inecnigeria has disregarded the Electoral Act by failing to publish the voters’ register online for public scrutiny, even after the statutory 90-day deadline has passed. Even under Mahmood Yakubu, the register was published online, with a mechanism for complaints and objections. Today, NOTHING! And somehow, the country has moved on like nothing happened. WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? Apart from @ARISEtv and @fijnigeria, where is the Nigerian media? Where are @YIAGA, @EUinNigeria @EU_SDGN , @NDI and the other civil society organisations? @NigeriaNDCHQ .@ADCNig ARE YOU PEOPLE SLEEPING? Are you actually preparing for this election? This is the voters’ register we are talking about. THE VERY FOUNDATION OF AN ELECTION! INEC has effectively said, “To hell with public scrutiny. Do your worst.” And our collective response is SILENCE. I am genuinely pained. We complain about electoral malpractice and compromised institutions, yet when it is time to demand accountability BEFORE an election, everybody suddenly goes quiet. Must we wait until votes are cast and results are disputed before we start shouting? Seriously, am I the only one who finds this silence deeply disturbing?

In 2001, President Olusegun Obasanjo’s request to the National Assembly to buy a ₦5.5 billion plane was rejected by the House of Representatives after a heated debate. Eyo Akaninyene argued that lawmakers could not approve the request when the administration had yet to make a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians. Maurice Ibekwe warned that Nigerians might protest the purchase “when there was hunger in the land.” Emma Anosike questioned why such a huge sum was being requested while the country continued to face crises in the health and education sectors. Pro-Obasanjo lawmakers, like House Leader Mohammed Wakil, unsuccessfully tried to delay the vote to build support for the proposal. They argued that the aircraft was intended for the office of the president, not Obasanjo personally. But Stanley Ngada insisted, “This is the time to think of the people's welfare, and how to provide basic infrastructure.” The Punch newspaper reported that the House eventually voted down the proposal, which had passed through the Senate earlier with little friction.

Peter Obi supporters are giving me Donald Trump's supporters vibe (MAGA movement). They're no longer talking to people online, they're digging their heels and preparing for battle offline. It's why you are no longer hearing of any buzz online. I've been hearing things.... lol

Tinubu knows deep down that he has nothing to offer NIGERIANS. Nigerians know that @officialABAT has nothing to offer them. He just wants to complete the eight years he believes he is entitled to. His son knows it. His wife knows it. APC knows it. The Senate knows it. And you reading this, you know it too. Everybody supporting Tinubu is either doing it based on tribe, financial gains, or shelter from the EFCC. The election is around the corner, Tinubu & APC have nothing to campaign with... So they are relying on Wike and the Governors to help him win by any means necessary... 🩸🩸🩸. That is why you see them going around threatening Nigerians... Because that is the best they can do. To torment, suppress, and oppress. Look at the set of POLITICAL BANDITS we have now, The ministerial Ebonyi buffalo, the barking Obio-Akpor H!tler who now carries himself as the real @inecnigeria chairman, The dullard in Edo who doesn't even know how to spell his name, the moron in Benue who scammed his people with religion, the demented occupant in Anambra, etc. They all now move around with 50-50 shoulder pads, you dare not question them... It's all personal interest. None of them is there for you or for a better Nigeria. @officialABAT and APC introduced a demonic kind of Politics in Nigeria. Nigerians, 2027 is not about voting and going home... It is about dining with your vote and protecting your vote. By every means possible, do your part... Because the set of Political bandits and kreeminals we have now will watch you die of hardship and dance on your grave like the Osun State Michael Jackson who played his people. 2027 is very vital for you... You still have time to prepare yourself.

I agree with Emmanuel Petit's assessment on Bradley Barcola fee. He was valued at £60m last season. PSG put brand new Timberland boots on him and somehow convinced Liverpool to fork out £120m. Whoever sanctioned that deal should be investigated. ASAP.

Your admiration for BAT may be from tribal solidarity, religion (Islam), or individual fondness (maybe you just personally love the man) those are subjective & very valid personal reasons. But to say that his leadership has given Nigeria some substantial positive change is a LIE!! May we never witness this type of leadership again.

As a civil engineer, you are a very dishonest person and people like you are dangerous. Nobody is disputing anything you tweeted. The point is that none of what you pointed out was discovered yesterday or last week. This issues have been there for years. You want to tell me that no one in the Ministry of works saw all this for a billion dollar project until last week or what?. The man at the helm of affairs was asked if a study was conducted on national TV and he ridiculed the journalist. So spare us this professional jargon biko. Na the construction all of us gather dey.
As a civil engineer, I find it surprising that people who have no engineering training will boldly fault engineering design decisions without understanding the background reason. The real question any critic should ask is: are the reasons behind this design change genuine? You are laughing with emojis because you are looking at a mega-infrastructure project through the lens of a tailor. A road route is not drawn in permanent ink. The diversion of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway from the immediate shoreline is not a mistake; it is a calculated decision based on very practical realities.  First, the original route directly clashed with the landing stations of Nigeria's international submarine cables. Building over them would mean risking a massive internet and telecommunications blackout for the entire country. Second, sticking strictly to the old coastal line meant the government would have to destroy multi-billion Naira investments, established resorts, and ancestral communities. One of them is Okun-Ajah. Therefore, diverting the road slightly inland saves the government billions in compensation and protects people's homes and livelihoods. Again, one thing we must not forget is that the Atlantic Ocean is aggressive. Because of severe coastal erosion, building a permanent highway right on the water's edge is dangerous. As such, moving the road inward creates a safe buffer against ocean surges so the highway does not wash away in a few years. Anything outside of this is a political talk. And I am not interested in that. Engineering is about solving real-world problems. So next time, before you laugh at a structural diversion, understand the facts driving it.

What I know is that PO won’t have Umahi invite him for the commissioning of coastal road just to sit in a tent with AC blazing without being driven on it to Mae sure what he said tallied with what is on ground
