🤖 Made with AI
dystopia roadmap looking suspiciously bullish 💀
give humanity a floor and there’s no limit
Replying to @elonmusk
@elonmusk 🚨 THIS IS GOING TO BREAK THE INTERNET‼️‼️‼️
Elon Musk just dropped Neuralink's craziest bombshell:
“In the next 6 to 12 months, we're going to implant the first vision devices. Even if you're 100% blind from birth, we're going to write directly to your visual cortex… and you're going to see.”
“And that's just the beginning. In the long term, you'll have ultra-HD resolution and real superpowers: you'll see in infrared, ultraviolet, and even radar. Literally like a superhero.”
The future is no longer science fiction. It's Neuralink.

Get everyone invested in the productive economy
Then let AI do the heavy lifting
UBI
trump accounts becoming a setup for ubi was not on my bingo card... but it might make sense?
certainly aligns the incentives between hyperscalers <> the public, and creates some initial structure for allowing everyone to participate in the upside of the most productive assets in an increasingly ai-driven economy
the prophecy was always UBI
AI privatizes the upside and socializes the downside
UBI is the missing piece 🧩
AI takes your job
Politicians promise the airdrop
$UBI holders were early 💀
AI replacing your job used to be the dystopia
Now we’re discussing how to distribute the loot
Universal Basic Income
Universal Basic Income is starting to sound a lot less crazy
With Anthropic pledging 5% of its shares to a public benefit fund and Elon Musk talking about giving Americans a stake in SpaceX, the conversation around sharing AI-generated wealth is heating up
The idea is simple: if AI eventually replaces millions of jobs while generating trillions in wealth, people could receive regular payments regardless of employment
Neither announcement is actually UBI, but it’s interesting how quickly the conversation is shifting
If AI ends up doing most of the work, how will everyone else make a living?
AI companies are starting to figure out the distribution layer.
First the machines take the jobs, then the shares fund the people 💀
UBI is the endgame.
SITUATION EXPLAINED: Anthropic just put 5% of its shares, nearly $50 billion, toward what could become AI-funded UBI.
• The fund is wholly owned by Anthropic, and the board can add 2% more for every 50% rise in Anthropic's value above a set baseline
• With existing pledges, including the cofounders' 80% of their equity, about 20% of Anthropic is pledged to the public good, close to $200B at its $965B valuation
• It could fund large donations to traditional nonprofits or "direct distributions to specific populations," a give-directly, UBI-style approach
• Anthropic already committed $200M to studying AI's impact on jobs and says the fund allows "bolder approaches"
@schisofrenia: "We can start doing longitudinal studies, like if you give to a specific population, say, in the US or in an impoverished town in the US or outside of the US, then you can start to do longitudinal studies on how that affects people."
Anthropic said the quiet part out loud
AI creates the abundance
$UBI distributes the upside 👀
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

$1B damage or 50 deaths
The new “we should probably do something” threshold
UBI: maybe build the human floor before we start raising the damage ceiling
BREAKING: 🇺🇸 Anthropic is privately pitching Congress a bill that would limit when the US government can block an AI model.
The government could only act if a model risks over $1 billion in damage or killing or seriously injuring more than 50 people, per Politico.
