This year’s International Safe Abortion Day calls for Solidarity in Action: advance reproductive justice and urgently strengthen health systems for comprehensive abortion care. 1/3 🧵

We often talk about abortion access as though it begins and ends with whether a service exists. But access also means being able to reach care, afford it, find accurate information, trust the system, and receive care safely, confidentially and without stigma.

This #September28, means strengthening the conditions that make abortion care genuinely accessible, safe, timely, confidential and dignified. #AbortionIsHealthcare #AbortionAccess #StrengthenHealthSystems

UNGA81📣 🧶1/3 We did not go to New York simply to participate. We went with questions. But more importantly, we went with demands. Over two weeks, @Zamara_fdn engaged spaces where decisions on multilateralism, development, financing and human rights were being debated, bringing feminist analysis, research and the voices of women and girls in all their diversities into the room. The work does not end when the General Assembly closes. We take the conversations home. We take the demands home. And we keep organising. #UNGA81 #ZamaraVoices

We begin our Silent Week running from today until 1 September — a moment to pause, breathe and rest. But silence doesn’t mean we are leaving you alone. As LBQ persons and communities, peace and safety are not things we should have to navigate alone. 1/4

We believe in creating spaces where we can feel safe, included, supported, and cared for collectively. That’s why we created REIMAGINING PEACE: Safety, Inclusion and Collective Care for LBQ Persons. During this week, we may be quiet. But we’re still here. Still listening.

Still caring. Still building toward safer, more inclusive, and more caring communities. #SilentWeek #ReimaginingPeace #CollectiveCare #RestIsResistance #SafetyAndInclusion

Our liberation has room for all of us 🏳️‍🌈 We affirm that queer communities are not a monolith. Our bodies, identities, histories, politics, cultures and experiences may be different and that difference does not make any of us less deserving of belonging.

May we build communities brave enough to hold complexity, make space for disagreement, and embrace one another without demanding sameness. Different does not have to mean divided. We can make room for each other. Repost from @rawmantique #affirmation #MondayThought

We are currently participating in data protection training for civil society organisations facilitated by Amnesty International Kenya and DPO 360. 🧵

The training is strengthening our understanding of data governance, privacy and responsible data handling and our obligations under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

For us, data protection is more than compliance. It’s about protecting people’s privacy, safety, dignity and trust. Protecting data is protecting the community we work with. #DataProtectionKE #DataGovernance #privacymatters #responsibledata #civilsociety

Online harassment and doxxing disproportionately target women, LGBTQ+ people and activists in Kenya, often with little recourse. Digital rights are human rights: report abuse, document evidence, and know that speaking up online shouldn't cost your safety. #RaiseYourVoice

To stand at a public political rally and suggest that perpetrators should "just rape women and not kill them" is not only reckless but deeply harmful.

It creates the dangerous impression that rape is somehow a lesser offense that can be tolerated, so long as it does not end in murder. Rape is not an acceptable alternative to femicide.

We expect our elected leaders to unequivocally condemn all forms of violence against women—not normalize or trivialize them. It is deeply disappointing that such dangerous rhetoric continues to come from political leaders.
