Lina Khan on AI: "These are individuals that have become used to a certain level of impunity, elite impunity that I think we've talked about in the past as being a broader cultural, social phenomena that results when we're not holding the rich and the powerful to the same rules and the same standards that we do to everybody else. I think there are a lot of magazine profiles and other assessments looking at what these individuals as a personal matter and their character. I think to me, some of that is a little bit less interesting than this basic question of: Who is deciding in the first instance what trajectory these technologies take? And whenever you have a tiny number of elites getting to call the shots around this potentially transformational technology, that is gonna be dangerous even if you have the most benevolent, well-meaning people in the driver's seat. It really comes down to the concentration of power." From our people's town hall with @AINowInstitute

“long-term planning” with “niko kovac”
Lars Ricken and head coach Niko Kovac get on so well partly because they both have successful playing careers behind them and enjoy sharing their experiences. Their future collaboration is even linked to one another. The two parties have agreed not to begin the planned contract extension negotiations with Kovac until Ricken has signed his new contract as CEO Sport. The latter is considered a mere formality. Both contracts currently run until summer 2027. For Kovac, Dortmund’s greatest hope, the question is no longer whether he will extend his contract, but rather by how many years. In sporting terms, long-term planning is already underway. 🗞 @SPORTBILD #BVB

Niko Kovac plans to use Maximilian Beier as a permanent attacking wing-back solution. Depending on the opposition, Beier is set to become the significantly more attacking alternative to Daniel Svensson, who often lacks the cutting edge in the final third. Beier is relaxed about his new role: "I’m lucky that I can play in several positions. I also enjoy playing at left-back or right-back. But for as long as I can remember, I’ve always been up front – that’s where I feel most comfortable." 🗞 @RNBVB #BVB

Replying to @FoliBVB
The Veerman signing is even more shocking at this point because Kovač obviously can’t stand players like him. I believe he reluctantly plays Karetsas regardless of his fitness because, once again, it’s a player who is not built to robotically occupy a space on the pitch and pride himself in his defensive impact. Just consistently abysmal football that lacks the tactical flexibility that the modern game requires. Make no mistake, he can and likely will grind this out to a 3rd place finish where BVB concedes either the least or 2nd least goals in the league. But it will be done his way and that ceiling of potential was already hit a long time ago.

The most upsetting thing isn't even dropping points in games like today or Bremen. The worst part is that we've changed our identity to prevent games like these just to end up being A, PERHAPS THE MOST BORING TEAM and still do the same shit
