When I was a kid, Boomers told me that if I didn't study hard, they would take years of my life by holding me back in school.
They would severely punish me for not knowing useless things.
Now that Boomers have spent almost half a century avoiding dealing with the shortfalls in Social Security, the rules have suddenly changed.
As a kid, I was TOTALLY responsible.
As adults, Boomers are NEVER responsible.

AI-written or -assisted speeches in various (mostly) Anglophone legislatures.
Analysis from The Economist, using Pangram. Link for subscribers:
economist.com/britain/2026/0…

ALT Dot chart showing about 20 percent of speeches in lower houses of Australia and Canada are made with the help of AI. In the United States and Northern Ireland, about 15 percent. In the Republic of Ireland, in Britain, and in Scotland, about 8 percent. InWales and New Zealand, about 5 percent. For upper houses, the US Senate uses AI far less than the House of Representatives - almost not at all. Australia's upper house has about 14 percent of speeches AI-assisted.

Over the last four years, America has lost more than 200k jobs in creative fields like publishing, film, TV, or graphic design. It's the worst stretch for arts jobs outside of major recessions.
How much is AI to blame? And can the arts' business model survive?🧵

It’s funny because she ends up hating the most “financially accessible” cruise lines and loving the most “cost prohibiting” cruise lines, without drawing out the logical relationship between one and the other

Yeah it's just DEI bro, they purged all the white men and replaced them with women and browns. Every cultural industry got purged during the Woke era (2014-2024) by a combination of cowardly old white Boomers, and the DEI affirmative action hires of the 1990s as managers.

Why face up to the consequences of your own actions when you can just blame billionaires for them?

One reason the masses rebel against AI is that they correctly assess that AI is most useful to smart people (not them).
AI shifts human work from execution to orchestration, and orchestration is more cognitively demanding.
Smaller and smaller teams of smart people will be able to deliver more and more, while cognitively modest haters fade into irrelevance

Dear Teachers, please stop sitting disruptive boys next to well-behaved girls because you think the girls will “settle them down”
It is not their job.

Stop putting the highly intelligent and motivated students with the disruptive and struggling students because you think they’ll “help” their peers with the work. That’s not their job either.

Teachers routinely outsource their jobs to students. They make the stronger students tutor the weak ones.
