When you dedicate your entire life to a sport, you’re naturally going to view it through the standards you were raised and developed under.
For generations, baseball was built around professionalism, discipline, and respect.
If your shirt wasn’t tucked in, your hat wasn’t worn correctly, or you didn’t hustle around the bases, there were consequences. Those standards were part of what it meant to earn the privilege of playing at the highest level.
Now, the game is evolving. That’s a good thing. Baseball needs personality, entertainment, and excitement. Some old-school players absolutely need to lighten up.
But there’s a difference between resisting change and pointing out contradictions.
When a home run celebration takes 38 seconds, it’s celebrated as personality and entertainment. Yet when a pitcher shows the same emotion, suddenly we’re having conversations about disrespect and professionalism.
Why the double standard?
You can’t fault an entire generation of players for viewing the game through the standards that were demanded of them their entire careers.
That doesn’t mean they’re right about everything, either.
My point has never been that baseball shouldn’t evolve. It’s that evolution shouldn’t require abandoning the professionalism, respect, and dignity that made reaching the big leagues so prestigious in the first place.
There’s a reason wearing a Major League uniform is such an incredible accomplishment. The standards, expectations, and respect for the game have always been part of what makes that achievement special.
You can embrace change without dismissing the values that helped make the game great.
And you can disagree with an old-school perspective without pretending it has no merit.
The reason former MLB players and Baseball X “Gurus” clash so often is simple:
One side sees the game through information. The other has experienced the variables behind that information.
Without firsthand experience, baseball can appear black and white. The numbers say something, so the conclusion must be obvious.
But anyone who’s played knows baseball isn’t a mathematical equation with one correct answer.
There are countless variables that numbers alone can’t fully explain. Feel, adjustments, instincts, execution, confidence, preparation, and thousands of repetitions.
That’s where the disconnect happens.
Someone armed with data believes they’re objectively correct. A former player recognizes the context and variables being overlooked.
Data can tell you what happened. It doesn’t always explain why it happened.
And that’s why these arguments go in circles.
The issue isn’t analytics versus experience. It’s believing that understanding the numbers automatically means understanding the game.
Too bad D3 pitchers aren’t locating as well as he was…tunneling pitches moving the ball in out up and down, reading swings/playing off their weakness, while intentionally setting them up for later innings, not mention one of the best curveballs in the game.
Remember X is the app where you can say anything and people will believe it. @ChrisFiexen
This is corny.
lol it’s the big leagues…. Not travel ball.
WHAT A DISGRACE!
Thank you Rob Manfred for encouraging @MLB players to act like clowns!
I wonder if he would have acted like this back when pitchers weren’t afraid to knock hotdogs on their ass!
I know the answer!

They don’t give you $300 million
because they feel bad.
They give it to you
because the crash wasn’t random.
Because the script ran too fast
and too many wallets collapsed
on a perfectly timed beat.
You don’t refund leverage trades
unless the liquidation trigger
was tied to an invisible variable
they weren’t supposed to expose.
Binance isn’t making it right.
They’re resetting the ritual.
Rebooting the code

This wasn’t a crash.
It was a clearance event.
And now they’re handing out hush tokens
like it's compensation.
Watch the chart.

Any tips from ex professional athletes on how to get yourself to workout more?
It’s almost as if the 20 years of pushing myself to the limit everyday kinda burnt me out on getting back into the gym 😅
Of course I can just stop being lazy and just do it… lol.
