It hasn't even started. Going into next year the low cost programs for cruise missles, drones and ballistic missles will be entering mass production. Offsetting the use of high end legacy systems, as well as unmanned surface and subsurface vehicles continuing to ramp. Iran will be a test bed for the new mass saturation US model. Cheap systems combined with the US defense budget is a terrifying prospect for enemies of the United States.
What a huge tactical error it was to start a war we’re not willing to finish.

Pro Russian? The us is enabling all the major moves the ukrainians are making. Starlink, hornet, apkws2, isr. Ukraines own intelligence chief has said us satellite and early ballistic warning systems are critical. We arent buying Russian oil and gas, (and Trump's executive order doesn't change that, it would require an act of Congress), unlike the EU who continues to fund the war agianst Ukraine directly by continuing to purchase Russian energy. Before trump the EU was to scared to seize Russian vessels. Before trump the us refused to provide long range targeting data. Before trump the us refused to shut down starlink access in Russia. The US is doing more for Ukraine than Europe, we are just making them sign the check.

If you thought the us was going to let fuel prices continue to rise going into the mid terms and beyond I have a bridge to sell you. Current market prices in Europe and Asia are not pricing in the marginal supplier replacing lost Russian exports drawing back to boost American inventory levels to lower prices at the pump. The entire market has been treating the situation as if the us is still a major importer without control of the market. Reality is about to bite hard.
🚨 BREAKING: Rep. Tim Burchett just emerged on the House floor and filed legislation to CRACK DOWN on oil companies artificially raising fuel prices by exporting it abroad at higher costs "PRICE GOUGING by greedy oil companies!" "I'm introducing legislation to implement export control measures on American diesel. Export controls drive down prices while also helping farmers and keeping more money in the pockets of consumers." Burchett says companies "know" they can make higher profits by selling at higher prices abroad, and wants American consumers prioritized "Mr. President, please call on Congress to pass this vital piece of legislation. I don't believe Congress has the guts or the willpower to do it, but, sir, you have proven time and time again that you and Vice President Vance do have the guts to do what's right for this country." This comes after President Trump brought energy companies into the Oval Office and told them to STOP letting gas prices stay higher than they should be @timburchett

Now consider the fact that dxy is up 10% over the same period. This is why oil at 150$ was never in the cards, not without the us cutting exports. And the global economy starts cracking long before it did in the past, even at lower barrel prices.

Wow. Just throw Europe right under the bus.
Zelensky: Ballistic missiles are Russia's last argument in this war against Ukraine and we must find a sufficient response to them. We have one and only so far one and only proven tool that works and that is American-made Patriot systems.

Europe failed to keep its word. We were SUPPOSED to be partners and uphold the post WW2 rules based order together. You didn't keep up your end of the bargain. You allowed your military to atrophy to the point of uselessness. The entirety of NATO minus the us can barely field the equivalent of a supercarrier battle group. Useless in a global fight. The land armies are impressive. If you ignore the chronic underfunding, use of legacy outdated equipment, absence of munition stocks and the lack of anywhere near the Logistics infrastructure to support said force. You left us to cover 2/3rds of all NATO spending since it was formed despite a total no US NATO population 1.86x larger. You left us to shoulder the responsibility of fighting the wars necessary to maintain this fragile, unprecedented in history, period of massive wealth and quality of living increase. You, who are recource scarce in Europe and by far benefited to a larger extent from globalization, left us to maintain freedom of the sea. You failed this alliance. You did what was best for yourself and got free healthcare, using collective bargaining to force Americans to subisdize global pharmaceutical research, lavish paid time off, short work weeks, every creature comfort you could think of that drove down productivity and caused you to go from economic parity with the US in 2011 to 41% smaller today. Among other rediculous self inflicted wounds via decarbonzing and de industrializing. You are still in the denial stage but starting to realize the truth. You've squandered the legacy that your ancestors fought so hard to achieve. You don't have the fiscal, industrial or energy requirements to facilitate a meaningful military build up. The paltry hundreds of billions in planned spending increases over 10-15 won't amount to anything substantial. It's meant to ease fears and paper over the fact that a true military Renaissance would require trillions in extra spending over just the next 5-10 years to close the gap. By my estimate 1 trillion per year for 5 years then a sustained 5% baseline would get you roughly in line with China. Still far short of superpower status. Keep bloviating. I'll believe your serious when the cash starts flowing and ship keels start getting laid. From how far behind you are I would get started quickly.
They betrayed those in Afghanistan who trusted them. They betrayed Ukraine by withdrawing support, even though they had guaranteed the inviolability of its borders. They betrayed Denmark, their longtime ally, by demanding Greenland from them. They betrayed Taiwan by calling it “a small and distant island” while in China, increasing the risk of a Chinese attack. Now they are withdrawing their troops from Romania and Poland, leaving Eastern Europe on its own. We will manage on our own, because for centuries we have known one thing: if you want to rely on something, rely on yourself. But these betrayals will forever strip the United States of its role as a superpower. What kind of superpower does not keep its word? In our part of the world, a new superpower must rise to take America’s place: Europe.

"An entire generation learned to deconstruct and never learned to build. An entire generation knows how to suspect and no longer knows how to admire. An entire generation sees power everywhere and beauty nowhere." Beautifully put. 👏 👏 👏
Alors pardon. Et au travail.

Let's go! It had to be nuclear to have the electrical generation necessary to make the juice worth the squeeze. My only concern has been addressed. Forget the armaments, although they are cool. Imagine if this thing were off the coast of iran, dumping power into local low latency inference for AI analyzing sigint. Faster kill web closure. More precise and complete battlefield picture. Ai coordination of assets to a degree that will revolutionize the battlefield. This will be a force multiplyer akin to the introduction of the aircraft carrier.
The Navy’s FY2027 Shipbuilding Plan reveals new details of the Trump administration’s future nuclear-powered battleship program. The proposed BBGN “Trump Class” would be built around hypersonic missiles, lasers, massive power generation and long-range strike warfare as part of the Navy’s broader “Golden Fleet” expansion push.

Europe is acting like a geriatric parent who still thinks they’re the head of the family, but refuses to admit they’re now fully dependent on the US for security and the high-margin export profits that keep them wealthy. Instead of falling in line, they’re actively squandering the family wealth and power: voting against (or softening) our positions on Israel at the UN, threatening to suspend the EU-Israel trade deal, keeping a de-facto trade war alive with tariffs and non-tariff barriers, hammering American tech companies with DMA/DSA regulation and massive fines, and using collective bargaining to pay rock-bottom prices on pharmaceuticals while the US market subsidizes the global R&D that benefits everyone. BRICS has its cracks, but on UN votes and raw economic self-interest they coordinate way better than the transatlantic West right now. Europe needs to wake up, accept the structural reality, and start pulling its weight before it burns through the last of the family inheritance.
She highlights Europe's greatest problem. You still behave as if you have the political, military and economic capital you did 20 years ago. In 2011 you were at economic parity with the us, today we are 1.45x the size of the EU. at current trend we will be double your size by 2035. The vast majority of Europe including the UK, france, Spain, Italy ECT is now poorer in gdp per capita terms than the poorest anerican state, even Germany is set to fall behind all 50 states in the next 2-4 years. Your reliance on the us economy is staggering. While 21% of total exports by gross value go the US, goods sold in other markets have lower margins. By net profits the US accounts for 35% of EU export profits. Your military is in shambles. The entirety of European NATO when considering readiness rates and maintenance cycles can't even field the equivalent of a single US supercarrier battle group. Even then you lack the logistics tail to deploy that paltry "fleet" for sustained combat operations. The entirety of the UK royal navy today is less than half the size of the fleet they sent to the Falklands in 1980. Even if you hit 5% of spending by 2035, if the us does the same we will be spending double on defense what you do based on economic size and are starting from a much higher baseline. Overall your military is about 1/6 as capable as the US, naval power is even worse at roughly 1/12-1/15 the US. Yet living off legacy you still act as if you are an equal to the United States geopolitically, before the current admin via riding our coat tails. It's time for a reality check about your standing on the world stage.

Iran isn't only about China. Trillions are planned to be spent in the Gulf states in the coming years for data centers to make use of the abundant gas. What if Iran threatened 100 billion+ facilities with years of irreplaceable GPU and HMB production? energy will be the bottleneck compute hits first. This move frees up vast swathes of untapped potential.

xitter.cf/i/status/2016929369718… The yen carry swapping to euro gold carry meant gold had to come down when eurodollar financing costs rose. The curve ball is energy+dollar demand+financing rising together. With roughly 15 trillion in eurodollar turnover in 26', and the energy situation accelerating, this is just the beginning. Gold drops, dollar demand soars, Asia and europe get crushed. Expect export demand drops to weigh heavily on Chinese growth targets.
The Dollar's drop isn't a "crisis of trust"—it's fake weakness from too many offshore Dollars flooding the system. Last year, these "Eurodollars" (Dollars created outside the US) grew ~6%, double the 2024 rate and faster than US domestic growth. That extra leverage keeps the Dollar down while pumping up stuff like gold and metals. Look at history: When offshore Dollars outpace like this (1970s, 1990s, 2000s), the Dollar weakens first (10-30% drops), then rips higher (20-95% jumps) when the leverage unwinds—like a big debt payback scramble, similar to the US in '08. Proof piling up: Dollar index hit 4-year lows ~96 today (Jan 29, 2026). Commodities (metals up 5-8%, silver +52% this month) are rising without any real global growth boost (GDP forecasts stuck ~3%). Not from demand—it's hedging bets on cheap Dollars. Today's gold crash (down 8.7% from $5600 to ~$5100) is the first crack: unwind kicking in, forcing sales. Yen mess (Japan rates rising, intervention talk) speeds it up. EM pain: Brazil eyeing yuan bonds screams "can't get Dollars cheap anymore"—premiums too high, so they're grabbing alternatives. Watch for more: Japan yields >2.5%, Dollar/Yen <150, funding squeezes. The real scare? When this leverage snaps, Dollar scarcity hits, and everything flips. #Dollar #Gold #Macro @SantiagoAuFund @GeorgeGammon @JeffSnider_EDU
