Texas is not turning blue, but Patrick may when he chokes on his own words. Dan Patrick literally said if people wanted to vote him out over cannabis, “so be it.” Careful what you ask for. This election does not require Texans to change parties. It only requires enough Texans to decide that one politician has gone too far. Patrick made himself the face of this fight. He made the threat. He drew the line. And he practically dared voters to hold him accountable for it. Texas can stay Texas and still send Dan Patrick home. Sometimes you do not have to flip the whole state. You just have to remove the problem.
