China banned crypto trading years ago, yet @solana is advertising across Shanghai’s skyline. And even @cz_binance admitted @BNBCHAIN hasn’t managed to establish the same presence there. The Solana Foundation has opened a Shanghai office and is expanding its outreach across 4 Chinese cities, targeting more than 100 fintech and technology companies. What caught my attention is how differently China treats crypto speculation and blockchain development. Trading and token issuance remain heavily restricted, but the underlying technology is still something Beijing wants to develop. I think Solana is making a calculated move here. Rather than waiting for China to reverse its crypto restrictions, it’s building relationships within the part of the industry that can still operate there.
