We have today published new research with the University of Bristol which demonstrates the extent to which stigma has been embedded into the design of our social security system: bit.ly/47XWX5e

Along with the anti-poverty charity, @Z2K_trust, we’ve led on an open letter to the Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms. 16 other charities have joined us to ask him to take some key steps to make sure that involvement is genuine.

Yesterday, MPs voted to reduce support for people unable to work by over £200 a month. From April 2026 the health element of Universal Credit will be halved for anyone who becomes sick. This will mean even more people are going without essentials. It makes no sense.
