Was sitting right beside Tyler in his car when this Apple ban moment happened.
It didn’t phase him at all/the way it would’ve messed with me.
Before you know it this guy was back on his feet and in an even better spot. Fall forward.
LFG
Apple banned me on May 14, 2026.
I was doing $500K+ ARR.
At the time, I thought it was the worst thing that could happen to my business.
I had to start over. New platform. New funnel. New marketing strategy.
147 days later:
$102K MRR. $1.2M+ ARR.
Solo founder. Fully bootstrapped.
All on Stripe.
Turns out getting banned was the best thing that ever happened to my business.
Oh, and Stripe's ~2.9% fee beats Apple's 30%.
Thanks, Apple.
Ask me anything in the replies. I'll answer your questions.
P.S. I'm looking to sell the business. I genuinely believe it can reach $1M/month, but I'm ready for my next chapter.

Happened to me as well.
I was running “bloater ai”.
Hit +$100K/mo.
Apple banned me and refused to pay out remaining funds: ~$50K+
No response. No explanation. Nothing.
Lost the money Apple owed me and I lost any money I could get from exiting the app.
Apple sucks.
But I’m back at +$100K/mo.
Never give up, it’s part of the game.
imagine having a $100k/mo mobile app and you wake up and it’s gone
you get a message saying “you’ve been permanently suspended for ____, you have 30 days to respond”
you respond, but after doing some research online, you realise it can take over a month for apple to respond
you also see that “while your apps are suspended, your customers will automatically churn when they reach their renewal date”
you put the pieces together and realise that even if you get the apps back after a month, they won’t be worth anything anyway, because most of your customers are on weekly plans, and will be automatically churned
all this because of a tweet, and an overly predatory nature of apple to make an example out of its public devs
this is why i have left mobile apps and have no intention on coming back - a business that can vanish over night is not a real business
sorry this happened to you @maubaron @ErnestoSOFTWARE - i hope you get it back soon
Someone recently asked me for advice on building a business and becoming successful. I thought I’d share my answer here too, in case it’s helpful to anyone else:
The best business advice I can give:
Focus on what you're naturally good at.
I grew up coding and was always figuring out how to go viral online. Eventually I combined those two skills into a business.
Then pick something you can stay obsessed with.
Consistency matters more than grandiose goals. Everyone says they want to be successful. Very few people are willing to do the same thing, learn, improve, and show up every single day for years.
I didn’t build a business around my life. I built my life around my business.
That works for me because I genuinely love it. It feels like I’m playing on a playground. That makes me very hard to compete with, because I don’t plan on stopping.
Ask yourself:
What does the successful version of me look like?
What are they doing every day that I’m not doing?
Then find people already winning at what you want to do. Study them. Imitate what works. Whether it’s SaaS, ecommerce, real estate, TikTok Shop - whatever.
Business is really just:
Form a hypothesis.
Test it.
Look at the results.
Iterate.
Repeat.
"Build your character and your character becomes your destiny" - naval
The goal isn’t just to want success badly.
It’s to want it badly enough that you keep learning, adapting, and showing up until you become very difficult to bet against.

truly a unique feeling when you leave your chill hometown and come to a place like NYC.
There's an instant 20-25% healthy boost in "oh shit, I need to be doing more" because literally everyone around you is in motion, which indirectly motivates you to push on.
Building...
The easiest way to answer 'does X matter?' in business is to limit test it.
'Do creatives matter when running ads?'
Run a blank black image as your ad. Intuitively you know it would tank.
There's your answer. Creatives matter.
Take any question to its most extreme negative or positive and the answer becomes obvious.
It won't tell you how much something matters, but it kills the debate on whether it matters at all.
Imagine if ChatGPT built a social graph the way Facebook builds friend suggestions.
You mention that X did something. ChatGPT finds X through the network and associates that data with them.
Person 1 fills in the blanks on Person 2 without Person 2 ever saying a word.
Eventually it knows more about everyone than they know about themselves.
Not affiliated with Adapty at all, but if you go through their blog there is genuinely no way you can't succeed.
They give away a bunch of sauce and most of it is actually good.
