By my count, at the end, we were playing:
3rd string LT
2nd string LG
Starting C
4th string RG
Starting RT (but maybe 2nd string RT if starting LT was healthy)

Correct. The offensive line played well the first three quarters. But because they can't stay healthy and haven't created quality depth, they fell apart in the fourth.
If you want to blame Mateer for the loss, that's fine. But my point is that there is a systemic issue with the offensive line and it put OU in this position tonight.

That’s recency bias. They were good enough to win by two tuddy’s until the 4th quarter

A loss here is on the coaches. Venables deciding to go with the fake field goal in that spot. Bedenbaugh and Arbuckle leaving Fodje in and effectively killing two series. Anyone involved in that Fodje decision needs to clean out their office tonight.

It is beyond ridiculous what is happening on the offensive line
Very much like 2024, injuries have completely tanked that position group
At the end of this game, OU was missing four starter level players - and it completely ruined any chance they had late

This loss is a result of an offensive line that just cannot stay healthy and does not have the depth to overcome bad health.
John Mateer was bad late, but the offensive line has been an issue for far too long at the University of Oklahoma.

Not saying Mateer wasn't part of the problem. But my God, the offensive line literally had to play a guy on one leg to finish the game!

Just a really bad loss for Oklahoma. It outplayed Kentucky for a good amount of tonight. But just too many mismanaged situations on offense and an offensive line that is just totally decimated.

DOWN GOES NO. 1 TEXAS 🚨
Oklahoma earns its first-ever win over Texas with the Longhorns ranked No. 1 in the AP poll

Watched a lot of ball today. Big football couch guy. Fun to watch other schools that are able to execute offensively. It can be done.
What an embarrassment for the state of Oklahoma. All the coaches, players, and administration should be on the chopping block.

It’s 2:30am ET. I’ve gotten home from an incredible day watching and discussing SEC football.
Yet, I also have to prepare for Monday on Oklahoma radio. And I can’t stop thinking about how to handle that show.
The next two games could be embarrassments… bloodbaths if you will.
This program is better than this. At least, it should be better than this. I have co-workers from various SEC schools laughing at our offense.
Oklahoma 14, New Mexico 6 is UNACCEPTABLE in every way, and I’m not trying to disrespect Jason Eck’s Lobos program.
We have a head coach with decisions that need to be made YESTERDAY.
This is NOT good enough. It isn’t even GOOD. It kills me to say ALL of this.
I’m hoping some sleep will help clear my head. But if it doesn’t, Monday will be interesting.
Dammit, this is OKLAHOMA!!!!!!
