impressive productivity, all in a span of a single year
As my first full calendar year working full-time on #rustlang OSS drew to a close, I thought it might be illuminating to reflect back on what I worked on.
The breadth of crates surprised me! Time really does fly when you’re having fun.

This is really amazing to see and a very solid data point validating that Rust adoption brings significant security advantages! Congrats to the @Android Rust team!
For more than a decade, memory safety vulnerabilities have consistently represented more than 65% of vulnerabilities across products, and across the industry. On Android, we’re now seeing something different:

Using Rust code in JavaScript via WASM can be challenging.
@jkomyno presented a language parser written in Rust, compiled with wasm-bindgen, and interpreted by Node.js. He observed limitations for production use cases and discussed alternatives.

I been hearing good things (more and more this is the recommended #rustlang web server framework), finally got to play, and it is extra smooth so far, and I also appreciate the many examples

If you struggled to understand the high-level goal behind WebAssembly’s Component Model proposal (like me...), this talk by @luke_wagner is excellent and got me really excited.
(N.B.: Component Model has effectively superseded Module Linking)
