BREAKING: Civil rights leader Marcus Mosiah Garvey Jr. has officially been posthumously pardoned, and Howard University School of Law professors and students had a hand in this effort. For 15 years, Prof. Justin Hansford worked with Garvey’s son to secure this historic acknowledgment. In 1923, Garvey was convicted on one count mail fraud as president of the shipping and passenger company the Black Star Line, for using the mail to defraud someone into buying stock in the company. “This pardon acknowledges the wrongful nature of his trial and conviction, affirms Garvey’s innocence, and uplifts Garvey’s unique contribution to the international cause of human rights, justice, and civil rights for all people worldwide,” Hansford said. Watching Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, Nelly, and Snoop dogg all perform at Trump’s inaugural event adds an extreme amount of validation to what Malcolm X said about some black celebrities being puppets. This man was a prophet 💯

How far his music has come from the Deep Cover soundtrack. As Hollywood Shuffle said, “There are jobs at the Post Office.”

A lot of our institutions thirst for mainstream acceptance— which makes little sense, given their creation is as a result of being excluded. Like hyperserve your constituency, don’t try to be the Black version of the majority org
The @NABJMonitor asks NABJ President Ken Lemon about Trump accepting the organization’s invite: “This is a great opportunity for us to vet the candidate right here on our ground.”

I was a public defender for years. Whether you call it solitary, “protective custody,” or the box: my clients were experiencing torture. I watched as it broke them down. This torture didn’t improve safety — it guaranteed trauma.

Rotten to the core. When more radical folks tried to pressure Biden we were told to be quiet and support. Now same folks want to push him out after the Primaries. Election by selection

Little confused: All of the radicals pushed for alternate candidates prior to primary votes Now the elite want to push Biden out for a hand picked candidate *after* the votes Like the cure can be worse than the cold. Many disillusioned voters guaranteeing a loss in 28

FAMU’s President stepping down Id have to believe is related to the fake donation. There had to be consequences for that.

He looked stressed at Graduation. It will be a time for the College to reconsider what the process of becoming a MH man looks like — to borrow Dr Sai Grundy’s phrase.

Dr Thomas is stepping down today and something I had thought about is exactly how similar the campus looks from my time decades ago. It is a time for the Morehouse community to assess what does the College look like and what being a MH grad means
It’s 2036, David Thomas and the board of trustees at Morehouse College have completed the newly reimagined campus that was introduced back in 2014 under the John Wilson Era.

Love this energy for reproductive rights, Supreme Court nominations, anti-militarism, mass incarceration… Wait that’s not what this is about?

I actually am not sure it is a good idea to have AI collect data on MH students. I’d suspect that would be the motivation

Joe was clear about Kamala. His speech team should recommend that he gets angry. He was clear then

As someone who has been a speech/debater and coach for decades, I would beg Biden to slow down and never lean in again

Joe is not good with names. Shouldn’t freestyle. Too many top advisers here with the look of fear
"I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, if she's not qualified to be president."

I am trying to understand how a sitting president who has won all of the primaries steps aside in the name of democracy. Like vote blue no matter what?

Like the time for all of that energy was before the elections. Now a candidate is to be installed - knowing that candidate will also lose? No wonder reproductive rights were lost. No vision

Folks too committed to being in office Again not my concern as a radical it all is a show but doesn’t seem to follow the rules of the play-game of politics
