We're taking a break from #trusteehour in March and re-launching in April with a new format & programme for the rest of 2021. Our focus will be 'The pathway towards COP26' to support trustees/charities in taking positive action before November. See you again soon.

Reserves doing their job - supporting the charity (so it can support its beneficiaries) through an emergency. #trusteehour
Q - how critical have reserves been for your organisation - or have they in some way prevented you from accessing emergency funding? #trusteehour
Welcome to the first #trusteehour of 2021 from @Weavermiles & @JulieKHutchison Today's theme: 'Charity reserves - damned if you have them, damned if you don't - how has your approach changed over the last year?'
15 minutes to go - just time to get some lunch first......#trusteehour

After our festive break, #trusteehour will be returning later in January for a lunchtime half hour: watch for news of date and theme to come. We wish #trustees well for the months ahead.
Just heard the one o'clock gun from the castle, so that's us done! Thank you to everyone who joined, and see you in December for the next lunchtime #trusteehour half hour.

Perhaps a key learning has been that change will be accelerated - and those things we're been aware of but might not have actioned yet will now be top of the agenda #trusteehour
Welcome from @Weavermiles & @JulieKHutchison to our new shorter lunchtime #trusteehour. Our question for today: it's 2025 and the newly named Covid-25 is spreading towards Europe. What key learnings from 5 years ago do you draw on to plan next steps with your fellow trustees?

The concept of reserves has historically been perhaps art not science. And no-one's fault that was the case. The last few months will provide some harder evidence on what reasonable reserves actually look like. #trusteehour

I would say making sure that risk management is central to your decision making. Also that you have a robust business continuty plan and reserves strategy in place to enable your organisation withstand shocks #trusteehour
