Everything that has happened over the last 6 months has had consequences. None of us fully understand them, certainly not politicians. One thing I am sure of is that we have got the balance wrong and cancer, cardiac and millions of other patients are suffering because of it.

ONS figures show that cancer is now expected to be causing more fatalities than Coronavirus in the UK. Many seem to have forgotten that the virus is not the only thing that can kill people. I dread to think how many have been too scared to seek treatment and suffered from it.

In the last two months we should have diagnosed 60,000 people with cancer. No cure has been found, so where have they gone? It's so worrying. This culture of fear is dangerous and it has to stop - it could end up taking more lives than the virus.

We're missing thousands of cancers, and many who manage to get referred by a GP are having scans/appointments delayed or cancelled. We shut the whole country down for Coronavirus, but cancer patients can be ignored? It's not good enough and will cost countless more lives.
