Even the large platforms used to be more experimental. Back in 2009 Youtube had a special ad for Wario Land: Shake It! which messed with resulted in Wario actually destroying the page itself:

If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!

This $5,000 “Trump Dividend” promise was first made in Sept. 2026. Similar prior DOGE and tariff check pledges have not been paid out. It would cost ~$1.2 trillion and require congressional approval.

Funny to play FFXI with the UI this crazy cramped, but surprisingly playable. There also some weird refresh issues that cause the game to chug a little, which gives the game a weirdly more PS2 vibe lol.

Louis Rossmann dismantles the claim that PBS lost 70 years of data because Trump defunded them.
It’s not a funding problem. It’s a competence problem.
The local PBS affiliate:
• Had a $179k chief technology officer
• Multiple years of solid revenue and net profit
• Kept 70 years of archives on one cloud provider with zero local backups
• Didn’t even download the data when the contract was ending
ROSSMANN: “This is the most incompetence that I've ever seen in my life. It's inexcusable.”
