An audit of New York’s Medicaid program reviewing the period from January 2019 through October 2024 found that Medicaid paid approximately $2.4 billion for Social Adult Day Care (SADC) services intended to support elderly individuals in community settings. Medicaid, funded through federal, state, local, and provider tax sharing, consistently spends more per enrollee in New York than the national average, with costs estimated at 40 to 60 percent higher. In response to significant indicators of waste, abuse, and fraud within the SADC sector, the FBI has joined an interagency working group dedicated to immediately disrupting and dismantling billion-dollar health care fraud schemes and the money laundering networks that enable them. These efforts will have a direct impact on American citizens by strengthening the integrity of the Medicaid program and ensuring that funds are used for legitimate care. If you suspect individuals or businesses within your community are engaged in health care fraud, you are encouraged to review your insurance provider Explanation of Benefits, contact your health insurance provider, or the FBI at tips.fbi.gov.

We honor the life and service of Officer Shane Seiber, who made the ultimate sacrifice on October 10, 2026. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fellow officers, and everyone who knew and loved him. May they find strength and comfort in the support of the law enforcement family during this difficult time. We will remember his service, honor his sacrifice, and never forget his name. #EndOfWatch #HonorTheFallen #NeverForget #LawEnforcement #FOPStrong Credit: @wttwpodcast & @mwiphilly Used for informational purposes.

Procession for fallen Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber arrived to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul shortly after 6am. Officer Seiber lost his life in the line of duty this month. His partner was also shot and is recovering. Seiber was an Air Force veteran, who served two tours in Iraq. He leaves behind a wife and two children. 🇺🇸🕊️

NYPD Detective Randolph Holder lived a life of significance—a life that mattered. Killed 11 years ago by an armed criminal, Randy and his partner didn't hesitate for a moment as they ran toward the danger on behalf of the people they proudly served. Why? Because as cops, #ItsWhatWeDo. Together we will #NeverForget. #CopsCountPoliceMatter

When the gunshots rang out 11 years ago today in East Harlem, our @NYPDPSA5 brother, P.O. Randolph Holder, didn’t hesitate. He ran toward the danger, confronted the evil and was fatally shot during the exchange of gunfire. Officer Holder’s heroic actions that day attest to his immense courage and his abundant love for his fellow New Yorkers. His ultimate sacrifice is never forgotten. #FidelisAdMortem

Yesterday, I had the honor of joining Vietnam Veterans Chapter 421 for their POW/MIA Memorial Ceremony. This service is a poignant reminder that we must never forget those who never made it home after bravely serving our country. May we always remember their service and sacrifice

On this day in 1988, P.O. Christopher Hoban was fatally shot during an undercover drug buy. Just three hours later, @NYPD34Pct P.O. Michael Buczek was fatally shot while pursuing a drug dealer. These two hero officers, forever linked by sacrifice, are never forgotten. #FidelisAdMortem

Releasing another man convicted in the assassination of NYPD Officer Eddie Byrne would be an unconscionable decision—and a profound betrayal of Officer Byrne, his family, and every law enforcement officer who puts their life on the line. I strongly urge the New York State Parole Board to keep David McClary behind bars, where cop-killers belong. Releasing him would once again send a disgraceful message: that the lives of police officers count for less than the freedom of the people convicted of murdering them. They don’t. Eddie Byrne’s sacrifice—and the safety of those who continue his work—deserve far more respect and justice. Send a letter to the parole board here: nycpba.org/keep-cop-killers-…

Thirty years ago, Lieutenant Federico Narvaez was serving in the 70 Precinct when a woman stopped him on the street and asked for help. He went to help her, and in doing so, gave his life in service to another person. Today, on that anniversary, we remember an extraordinary husband, father, and dedicated cop who served the city for 17 years, building a career defined by the promise of this profession: when someone needed help, he was there. Years after his death, his daughter Katrina followed in his footsteps and joined the NYPD. She knew more than most about what this profession can ask of a family yet still chose to serve. May Lieutenant Federico Narvaez’s memory forever be a blessing.

Before representing South Carolina in the U.S. Senate, I was the head of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind and prior to that, an optician. This morning, I had the opportunity to see the nexus of these three roles. I joined @officialsccb and @Meta at an event where they are donating AI-powered Meta glasses at no cost to blind veterans in our state. I was particularly moved by one veteran who became emotional after being fitted for these glasses because he was able to read his church bulletin by himself. This technology is a game changer for our blind veterans. There are so many everyday tasks that we take for granted, like being able to read a letter from a loved one, identify a household object or navigate unfamiliar surroundings independently. These Meta glasses will make a real difference in the lives of veterans living with blindness. I’m grateful for this partnership between Meta and the South Carolina Commission for the Blind because it’s an ingenious example of how to better serve those who served our country. If you’re an eligible veteran, you can register for upcoming Meta glasses donation events in our state: acbmedia.org/glasses/request…
