Where was this level of symbolic outrage then?
Disagreement is democratic. But the dignity of constitutional institutions and parliamentary processes must be respected, regardless of who is in power.

Independent journalists are being widely praised for their coverage of the ongoing protests in Delhi. But what lies behind this carefully cultivated image of independence?
These journalists openly give protesters a platform, take their side during confrontations, and even obstruct police action. Their conduct during protests is there for everyone to see.
I decided to put some of these self-proclaimed independent journalists to the test. Using a fake email ID, I approached several of them with a proposal to create Instagram videos for the SP ahead of the 2027 UP elections.
What happened next? They responded with work samples and quoted their prices for producing political content. I’m sharing screenshots of the email replies I received from each of them as evidence.

सफ़र की थकान के बाद हर यात्री सिर्फ इतना चाहता है कि स्टेशन से बाहर निकलते ही एक साफ़-सुथरा कमरा मिल जाए जहाँ वो चैन से दो पल आराम कर सके। अगर आपके दिमाग में भी यही चल रहा है, तो मेरी यह बात गाँठ बाँध लीजिए:
पटना जंक्शन के गेट नंबर 1 या 10 के बाहर 100 से 200 मीटर के दायरे में रुकने की गलती भूलकर भी मत करिएगा!
वहाँ कदम रखते ही आपको 4-5 दलाल घेर लेंगे—"भैया, एकदम VIP एसी रूम, अटैच लैट-बाथ, साफ़-सुथरा कमरा सिर्फ ₹400-₹500 में दिला देंगे।" थके-हारे इंसान को लगता है कि इतनी सस्ती डील हाथ से नहीं जानी चाहिए, लेकिन यहीं से शुरू होता है असली खेल।
इस 200 मीटर के दायरे सस्ते रूम का काला सच ;
1. गंदगी का अंबार और ज़ीरो हाइजीन:
कमरे के अंदर पैर रखते ही बदबू का झोंका आएगा। बिस्तर पर पुरानी मैली चादरें मिलेंगी जिन पर बाल और दाग़ पड़े होंगे। वॉशरूम का हाल ऐसा होता है कि आप अंदर कदम तक नहीं रख पाएँगे— टूटे नल, गंदे टॉयलेट सीट और पानी का अता-पता नहीं।
2. प्राइवेसी और सुरक्षा का कोई नामोनिशान नहीं:
अगर आप परिवार, अपनी माँ-बहन, पत्नी या दोस्तों के साथ आ रहे हैं, तो यह इलाका बिल्कुल सुरक्षित नहीं है। दरवाज़ों की कुंडी तक ढीली होती है। सबसे खतरनाक बात—
इनमें से ज़्यादातर सस्ते होटलों के कमरों में खुलेआम देह व्यापार का अवैध धंधा चलता है। रात होते ही अजीबोगरीब लोग मंडराने लगते हैं और कई बार तो गेस्ट्स को ही गलत चीज़ें ऑफर की जाती हैं। ऐसे माहौल में कोई शरीफ़ इंसान अपने परिवार के साथ 10 मिनट भी नहीं काट सकता।
3. चेकआउट के वक़्त का सबसे बड़ा 'लूट स्कैम':
आते वक़्त जो रूम ₹500 का बताया गया था, चेकआउट करते ही उसका बिल ₹1,500 से ₹2,000 थमा दिया जाएगा। जब आप पूछेंगे कि यह किस बात का पैसा है, तो बोलेंगे— "सर्विस चार्ज, जनरेटर चार्ज, जीएसटी और बेडशीट चार्ज" अगर आप बहस करेंगे, तो 3-4 असामाजिक तत्व काउंटर पर आकर घेर लेंगे, बदतमीज़ी करेंगे और धमकाकर जबरन पैसे वसूलेंगे। मजबूरी में ट्रेन छूटने के डर से इंसान पैसे देकर किसी तरह जान छुड़ाता है।
तो फिर पटना में रुकें कहाँ?
- स्टेशन के ठीक बाहर वाले इस 'स्कैम ज़ोन' से बाहर निकलिए। कम से कम 500 से 700 मीटर आगे बढ़िए—फ्रेज़र रोड, डाकबंगला चौराहा या एग्ज़ीबिशन रोड की तरफ आपको बेहद साफ़, सुरक्षित और प्रतिष्ठित बजट होटल्स मिल जाएँगे।
