Throwback to me testing out the Blender Camera controller + Blender 5.2's new NPR compositing techniques. Specifically the Dithering effects. Don't have alot of time to use Blender these days due to work demands but its always a good time when I do.

Isn't this good? The whole problem with discord is knowledge (like programming questions and answers) get lost because they aren't easily searchable
Discord will soon make public server messages searchable on Google The feature will be enabled by default for US adults, but users can opt out in their privacy settings
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Missing context: only applies to messages posted after the update, in public channels of discoverable servers. No private servers or DMs. Indexed messages won’t show usernames or avatars. Admins can opt out entire servers; users can opt out their own messages. discord.com/blog/making-co…

Logseq shot themselves in the foot with this stupid arse DB system. Now the app won't open (even when I reinstall) and my notes are gone! Fuck.

1. YouTube isn't recommending GNodes tutorials. Unless you go out of your way to search, u won't see it on your homepage. 2. More Youtubers are using Simulation nodes instead of actual GNodes. SNodes is more finicky, framerate dependent and more convoluted than regular GNodes.
Looks like people stop using or creating fun stuff with geometry node anymore. No new amazing Things about Geometry node on YouTube anymore. It's all old videos... Heavy geometry node YouTube channels are all silent. What happened? #blender #geonodes

That clears up a lot. The artist wasn't actually hired on the project so this wasn't an official soundtrack.
Aren't these guys under NDAs? How are they still able share these bcos NDAs usually remain even when the projects are cancelled. Not complaining cos I do like seeing BTS stuff. I'm just curious about the logistics of how they are able to share this much.

I'm curious about this because it can easily be an elaborate marketing ploy to test the waters of interest for the franchise and build hype for an announcement. Like a Coyote v ACME twist. Not saying it is. But again. I'm curious.

"The Music That Might Have Been" Austin Wintory, renowned composer behind games like Journey, releases 22 minutes of early Mass Effect 5 musical drafts from his pitch to compose the game: "Working on Mass Effect 5 was my career's biggest dream project, my white whale. It is my favorite franchise of all time, and for the last couple years I'd been in serious conversations with BioWare and EA to jump in. My suggestion was to treat the original game's masterful Jack Wall/Sam Hulick score as a starting point, and to build on it from there with deeper use of physical, analog synths and a more tightly interwoven use of the orchestra. But a love letter first and foremost (not unlike my approach to the Aliens franchise with Fireteam Elite). As part of the ongoing dialogue, I decided last year (2025) to surprise the folks with an elaborate production: nearly 20 minutes of music, fully recorded and produced with synths, vocals and a large orchestra here in LA. I'd not yet learned any narrative details of what they were planning so this was just pure musical exploration. Receiving the news alongside everyone else that EA had decided to not only cancel the project but shutdown BioWare entirely was a deeply felt loss. It's been hard to see dear friends lose their jobs, and this beloved franchise seemingly vanish forever. Thank you nonetheless to everyone at BioWare and EA's music department for gifting me the chance to dream in your sandbox. It was a privilege to do even that much." Listening to all the dispatch conversations about Blonde Blazer and remembering my review. Geez was that January?
Finished my 2nd playthrough of #Dispatch. Yep, it's a masterpiece. Went with Visi this time. Still prefer Blazer but I think Visi's arc is more tightly integrated into the plot. I feel much of Blazer's character arc and integration with the plot was cut due to scope & budget

A personal observation I want to share - I am doing a cloud rendering research for years. And only just now I feel like I can properly ‘see’ them. I can observe them in real world and I know what I am looking at, and notice elements I never saw before. This genuinely feels like a superpower. I bet people (shaderers, researchers, and artists) here who follow my work might share the same feeling on their fields? In this pic of Kitten Space Agency vanilla clouds left, mine - right. Same performance.

That was a solid cold open. I'm hooked (for now). Let's see where the story goes.

Fuck! I finished Book 8 of Dungeon Crawler carl over the weekend, now I don't know what to do with my life😭 What will I listen to on my commute to work. What a series! Dinniman has joined Asimov and JK Rowlings as the few author's whose books get better as the series progress

I generally stay away from book series. I don't like a single story drawn out over multiple books. In cases where each book is its own story, the first book is usually the best book and the story loses steam as the series progress. Foundation, Harry Potter and DCC are exceptions.

People prefer Invisigal because she is better integrated into the story than Blazer. Blazer's arc had alot of setup in the early episodes but no payoff due to budget limitations & cuts. My guess is that from the villain bar scene onwards was where the cuts started.
Dispatch Devs feel they lost a lot of Blonde Blazer by cutting content 🦸‍♀️💛 “We ended up cutting two episodes there used to be a 10 episode arc. We lost a lot of Blazer basically.”

Books(& films) are how I retrospectively measure time. The entire year might clump together in my head. But when I start taking inventory of the books I've read, I have a clearer idea of how much time has actually passed. WDYM I read Hyperion in March, that felt like years ago😂
