‘What’s Stopping You?’ not only reminds the motorist of the importance of tyre checks but highlights that, as the only point of contact between the road and the vehicle, it is tyres that are crucial for safe cornering and braking. #TyreSafetyMonth2021 #WhatsStoppingYou?

Aquaplaning or hydroplaning is the loss of grip as water is pushed between your tyres and the road.
To avoid it happening, slow down in wet conditions & regularly replace your tyres.

Now that we’re entering the winter months adequate tread depth is essential for good grip on wet roads.
Having insufficient tread depth you face longer stopping distances & reduced grip, which puts you and other road users in serious danger.

The legal tread depth limit for cars, vans, and all vehicles below 3.5 tons is 1.6mm; 1mm for motorcycles over 50cc. A potential £2,500 fine and three penalty points can be applied on each tyre if found to be below those limits.

Tyres that are just 20% underinflated can reduce fuel economy by 3%, adding unnecessary extra cost to your business. If your fleet cover a lot of miles, that’s a lot of wasted money.

Very true, and why TreadReader reports on tread depth, alignment and over and under inflation wear patterns
Did you realise that over-inflation not only means a less comfortable ride, but it also means the tyre has a reduced area of contact with the road resulting in less grip, accelerated wear on the tread centre and increased running costs? #AirPressure #OverInflation
