On a recent trip to Palani temple, I traveled by train from Chennai to Dindigul and then by car to Palani. On my return journey, I spotted a mountain with a unique shape and steep peak. ⛰️ 🤔 Intrigued, I took a photo & researched it online, discovering to my surprise that 1/

There comes a point when you have tried your best, at least, you think you have, but somehow the mind is not breaking free of the pattern. At this stage, self-effort is very necessary, and yet one begins to think that perhaps some intervention might help because you are not able to do this on your own. One then thinks, if there is an Ishwara to whom I can surrender, perhaps it will solve my problem. This is Ishwara Pranidhana, where I recognise that, with my limited intellect and capacity, I have understood and done as much as I can. Beyond this, I don’t think I can go on my own. If there is an Ishwara, I surrender to That. Please guide me and lead me on the right path. #SriMspeaks

What an amazing display of alertness and quick reflexes! Watch how swiftly this CISF officer reacted when a passenger tried to flee during baggage screening at Delhi’s Jama Masjid Metro Station. Great presence of mind and lightning-fast response. It is officers like him who make our public spaces safer every day 👍🏼 @CISFHQrs

Navratri Day 9 — Maa Siddhidatri 🌺 The culmination of Navratri · The Goddess who bestows Siddhis 1. Who is Maa Siddhidatri? Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped on the ninth and final day of Navratri. She is the ninth form of Navadurga and represents the fulfilment of spiritual possibilities. The name Siddhidatri comes from two Sanskrit words: Siddhi, meaning accomplishment or spiritual attainment, and Datri, meaning the giver. She is traditionally depicted seated on a lotus, with four arms holding a lotus, a mace, a discus and a conch. She is also associated with the eight classical siddhis and other spiritual attainments. 2. Her Mythology According to Hindu tradition, Maa Siddhidatri bestows siddhis upon divine beings and seekers. It is said that Lord Shiva worshipped her and received siddhis through her grace, attaining the form of Ardhanarishvara — the union of Shiva and Shakti in one form. This imagery represents the inseparability of the masculine and feminine principles of existence. Maa Siddhidatri thus signifies the fulfilment of creation, where seemingly opposing dimensions find their completeness in unity. 3. Her Symbolism The Lotus: Spiritual blossoming and the possibility of remaining untouched by the limitations of one’s surroundings. The Conch: The primordial sound associated with creation and the sacredness of existence. The Discus: The cosmic order and the cycles of time. The Mace: Strength, stability and the power to overcome obstacles. Her serene presence represents the completeness that comes with spiritual fulfilment. 4. The Mystical Significance of the Nine Siddhis In traditional Hindu texts, Maa Siddhidatri is associated with eight principal siddhis: Anima: The ability to become infinitesimally small. Mahima: The ability to become immensely vast. Garima: The ability to become extraordinarily heavy. Laghima: The ability to become extraordinarily light. Prapti: The power of attainment or reaching what is sought. Prakamya: The fulfilment of one’s will or desire. Ishitva: Mastery or lordship. Vashitva: The power of control or mastery. Some traditions describe additional siddhis and classify them differently. These belong to the spiritual and mythological framework of Hindu traditions. Beyond their literal descriptions, they invite us to reflect on the vast possibilities attributed to human consciousness and spiritual discipline. 5. The Inner Significance Maa Siddhidatri represents the culmination of the Navadurga journey — a movement towards inner completeness. Across the nine forms of Devi, we encounter courage, discipline, transformation, nourishment, strength, awareness and the dissolution of limitations. On the ninth day, these dimensions find their fulfilment in Siddhidatri. Her deeper message for a spiritual seeker is this: Are we constantly seeking fulfilment outside ourselves, or are we willing to explore the immense possibilities within? When the mind becomes quieter and our energies are directed with awareness, we may begin to experience life with greater clarity, balance and a sense of wholeness. The ultimate possibility is not merely to acquire something extraordinary, but to experience life beyond the limitations we have created for ourselves. 6. A Contemplation for Day 9 Sit in stillness and reflect: What am I still seeking outside myself to feel complete? Which limitations do I continue to impose upon myself? Can I approach life with greater openness, awareness and devotion? Maa Siddhidatri reminds us that the spiritual journey is not simply about becoming something more. It is also about discovering what becomes possible when our inner limitations begin to fall away. Navratri concludes, but the journey inward continues. 🌺 May Maa Siddhidatri’s grace inspire us to explore the boundless possibilities within and move towards inner completeness.

🪷 Navaratri | Maha Navami | Day 9 - Sri Sharadamba, Sringeri. There are sacred places where the pursuit of knowledge becomes a form of worship. Sringeri in Karnataka is one such kshetra. The Sri Sharadamba Temple is closely associated with Adi Shankaracharya, who established the Sringeri Sharada Peetham as a centre of Advaita Vedanta. Goddess Sharadamba, worshipped here as the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom, holds a special place in the spiritual heritage of Bharat. During Navaratri, devotees offer their prayers to Sharadamba, seeking not merely knowledge, but the wisdom to understand ourselves, discern the Truth and walk the path of Dharma. Maa Uma of Mithila – The Anchor of Family and Love Jai Maa Uma! 🙏🌸 Spanning the historic, beautiful region of Mithila near Janakpur, this timeless Shaktipeeth marks the location where Maa Sati’s Left Shoulder fell. Deeply tied to the land of King Janaka and Maa Sita, this ground radiates an aura of pure purity, devotion, and sacred family bonds. Worshipped here as Uma, Maa is the ultimate embodiment of domestic harmony, patience, and fierce loyalty. She is the mother who teaches us how to hold our relationships together with grace and dignity. When the pressures of family life, responsibilities, or emotional distances weigh you down, Maa Uma stands right beside you, infusing your heart with endless patience and unconditional warmth. Surrender your household worries into Her protective hands today. 44/51 Shaktipeeth Day 9 of Navratri 2026 #MithilaShaktipeeth #MahaNavmi #MaaUma #Shaktipeeth 📍Situated in the historic Mithila region near Janakpur (on the India -Nepal border near Darbhanga, Bihar / Janakpur, Nepal). The shrine is also locally known as the Sona Mai Mandir or Durgasthan. Some local traditions in Bihar also associate Mithila Shaktipeeth variations with Ucchait Bhagwati in Madhubani, Ugratara in Saharsa, or Jayamangala Garh in Samastipur. The absolute primary historical authority for the 51 Shakti Peethas is the medieval Shakta Agamic text titled Tantra Chudamani (specifically its section Pitha Nirnaya or Mahapithanirupana). The text explicitly lists the exact combination of the fallen body part, the designated name of the Goddess, and the corresponding Bhairava for Mithila. “Mithilayam Vama Skandha Uma Devi Mahodarah"
Maa Bhavani of Chandranath Hill – Rising Beyond the Clouds Jai Maa Bhavani! 🙏 High atop the mist-covered Chandranath Hill near Sitakunda in Chittagong, Bangladesh, sits the breathtaking Chandranath Shaktipeeth. This awe-inspiring, high-altitude shrine marks the exact location where Maa Sati’s Right Armfell, reaching out to embrace the entire universe. Worshipped here as Bhavani alongside Lord Chandrashekhar (Shiva as the moon-crested king), Maa represents the ultimate, unbreakable cosmic union. The climb up the thousands of steep stone steps through thick forests to the peak is grueling and pushes a devotee's physical limits. Yet, when you reach the windswept summit and look out over the vast landscape below, all exhaustion vanishes. Maa Bhavani teaches us that the highest spiritual peaks in life require effort, surrender, and endurance. When you offer Her your absolute devotion, She reaches down Her cosmic arm to lift you out of your daily struggles. 43/51 Shaktipeeth Day 8 of Navratri 2026🙏 #Chandranath #BangladeshShaktipeeth #MaaBhavani #Chittagong

Day 8 - Maa Mahagauri, the eighth form of Goddess Durga, who symbolizes purity, serenity, and inner transformation. She represents Goddess Parvati after she performed intense penance to win Lord Shiva, turning dark with dust until Shiva bathed her in the Ganga to make her radiant white. Aligns the crown chakra (Sahasrara) to guide devotees toward higher wisdom and inner liberation (moksha). She cleanses past sins, negative karma, and karmic impurities from the mind and soul. She brings deep tranquility, removes mental distress, grants peace, happiness, family harmony, and relief from life's difficulties. #Navaratri

In Kambaramayanam, Kamban portrays Sita Maa as a beautiful, lovable, intelligent and strong willed woman till Aranya Kandam. Following her abduction by Ravana, however, the narrative increasingly brings out her sorrow, anguish and longing for Rama. But when Hanuman meets Sita in Lanka and offers to carry her back to Rama, Kamban reveals an entirely different dimension of her character through a few extraordinary lines: எல்லை நீத்த உலகங்கள் யாவும் என் சொல்லினால் சுடுவேன்; அது தூயவன் வில்லின் ஆற்றற்கு மாசு என்று வீசினேன் “By the power of my word alone, I can burn all the worlds that stretch beyond the boundaries of the universe. But I refrained from doing so, for such an act would diminish the glory of the divine bow wielded by the pure and righteous Lord Rama.” What a magnificent revelation of Sita’s character! Here, Kamban establishes that Sita is no helpless woman awaiting rescue. She possesses the extraordinary power to destroy not merely Ravana but entire worlds. Yet she consciously chooses restraint, for she does not wish to diminish the glory of Rama and his bow. That is the brilliance of Kamban’s characterisation. He does not need to place a sword in Sita’s hands to establish her strength. Her words alone reveal a power greater than any weapon. Now compare this profound portrayal with the circus of a sword wielding Sita, an invention that has no basis in the original Ramayana. Creative liberty is one thing. Distorting the very essence of an established character for commercial spectacle is quite another. Sita does not need a sword to become powerful. She was always powerful.
We're seeing Sita Maa fight here, helping Shri Ram fight 14,000 demon army of Khar & Dushan, while according to scriptures Shri Ram fought all of them alone sending Lakshman & Sita Maa away. Are you excited to see it, or think they should've followed the real story. #Ramayana

My mom has a Tamil saying for situations like this: “ஆம்படையான் அடிச்சாலும் அடிச்சான், கண்ணுல, மூக்கில உள்ள பூளை எல்லாம் வெளியில வந்துருச்சு!” 😂 - The husband made his wife cry so much that her eyes and nose got cleaned in the process! 🤣 The idea? Even an unpleasant experience can have an unexpected benefit. So, what happened today? With a Red Alert issued, I thought I’d have to skip my golu visit. But before I could call my niece and friend to cancel, they called and asked me to come early and leave early. Off I went! OMR was almost empty. I visited them, enjoyed a traffic-free drive, and returned home early. 😂 And the best part? The Red Alert was withdrawn! 🤣 ஆம்படையான் அடிச்சாலும் அடிச்சான்… at least I got a traffic-free drive out of it! 😂🙏 #Chennairains

She realised that if the forests disappeared, the community that depend on them would suffer too. Lady Tarzan of Jharkhand, Jamuna Tudu led a forest protection movement - 5 women joined hands to protect their local forest in 1998, forming the Van Suraksha Samiti, meaning Forest Protection Committee. For years, the dense Sal forest surrounding Maturkham village, Jharkhand was plundered by the forest mafia for its precious Sal timber and rare fauna. Till, this young woman stepped in! Today she has a network of more than 10,000 people, more of women! The forest became a community responsibility. She ties a rakhi to trees. She runs awareness campaigns through various forest committees. She was conferred with and the NITI Aayog Women Transforming India Award and Padma Shri Doesn't this Mother melt our heart?! vc - truemedsindia on Ig

A Hindu temple is a sacred place of worship, rooted in centuries-old traditions and customs. Anyone entering should respect the faith and the sanctity of the space. If the Madras High Court’s directions can be bypassed, could it amount to contempt of court? The law must be enforced equally, without fear or favour, regardless of one’s power or political position.
A temple is a sacred space governed by traditions. Why should non - Hindus enter? On October 17, 2026, a controversy erupted at Tiruvannamalai’s Arunachaleswarar Temple when Tamil Nadu Minister Aadhav Arjuna’s personal assistant entered during an official inspection wearing a skullcap. Devotees and journalists objected, citing temple customs. The minister then asked his assistant to remove it, and the inspection continued. The Madras High Court directed that boards be installed in Hindu temples stating that non-Hindus are not allowed beyond the Kodimaram (flagpole), subject to an exception for those who profess faith in the deity and agree to follow temple customs. We're the Court Orders bypassed? Can it amount to contempt of Court?

I visited a Family friend. Look at the ellaborate Golu. These Idols are more than 35 years old.
Yesterday, I visited a Navaratri golu in our neighbourhood, and what an experience it was! 🙏❤️ The entire golu was dedicated to Sri Srinivasa Perumal of Tirumala Tirupati. Every bommai had a connection to the kshetram, from Anantazhwar and Kulasekhara Azhwar to the divine wedding of Srinivasa Perumal and Alarmelmangai Thayar. What made it truly special was the way the host narrated the stories behind every display. As she spoke about Perumal, Thayar and the Azhwars, I felt as though I was travelling with her through Tirupati, walking alongside the Azhwars and finally having His darshan. The whole experience was deeply moving. 🥹🙏 She had also thoughtfully included Tirupati laddu prasadam and TTD agarbatti in the thamboolam. In fact, I was so immersed in the experience that it never even occurred to me to take pictures! The only picture I took was of Perumal Himself, standing at the entrance. I simply couldn't resist! ❤️ I was physically in Chennai, but my heart had travelled to Tirupati and returned only after having His darshan. Govinda!🙏

It is the Light behind all lights, the Presence that pervades everything; from the personal God to the tiniest amoeba. It cannot be grasped by the mind or perceived by the senses, for it is the very Consciousness that makes all perception possible. It needs no other light to reveal it; it is That by which everything is revealed. That is the Self. Shubh Ratri 🙏🏽
