This year so much has changed, including our language. Take a look back on the words which told the story of 2020. What word sums up 2020 for you?

Hey @LGUK. Little bit confused as to why I’m still chasing to resolve a mistake you made on Saturday. You’ve promised to phone me on both Monday and today to resolve this and you still haven’t called. Starting to shop around for a different laptop as this is getting ridiculous.
It seems like twitter is imploding and let’s be honest, I’ve not been very good at it recently.
If you still want to be pals (and I hope you do!) you can find me on Instagram as translatorbex or on LinkedIn: LinkedIn.com/in/translatorbe…
See you there ✌️
What a fun first day at #ITIConf22. Such a joy to be part of a fun, friendly, insightful community and a privilege to get to speak about productivity and moving from overwhelm to getting things done. All the sessions today were outstanding and I can’t wait for round 2 @ITIUK
I love listening to newscast and Ukraine cast to keep up to date with the news but can’t believe both podcasts referred to interpreters as translators today 🤦♀️ #xl8 #translators #interpreters @BBCNews @adamfleming @vicderbyshire
Ellen dropping absolute gold this week (like she does every week). What I needed to hear today after noticing a quiet spell in work is getting me down.

Happy international translation day! I love 2021’s theme #unitedintranslation as it highlights how translation can cross borders and bring people together. In honour of #InternationalTranslationDay I’ve written some musings on “Being Lost in Translation” tinyurl.com/52yv9ae
Delighted to say that I passed my exam and am now officially a qualified member of @ITIUK! It still doesn’t feel real yet. #ITI #CPD #professionaldevelopment #translation #xl8
This #iwd2021 I #choosetochallange gender stereotypes and biases perpetuated through language. I also choose to challenge my own negative self talk which can tell me I should lower my expectations or expect less because I’m a woman.

I’m grateful that I belong to a professional body which isn’t afraid to raise concerns. I’m so grateful for my #Erasmus year: the way it shaped my career and the friends I made. Thank you @ITIUK for making the case iti.org.uk/resource/concerns…
Interesting thought. Also raises the ongoing debate of gender neutral language. Why do we suddenly have an issue with a term when it’s used about men? #xl8 #genderneutrallanguage #genderinequality #inclusivelanguage

Right... after 3 years my back can’t take much more. Recommendations for a good office chair which doesn’t make your back hurt? Any suggestions gratefully received #xl8 #WFH #freelancing
Happy new year! I’m easing into my first day in the office of 2021 by doing my annual review and setting some goals. What are your professional and personal goals and what do you need to put in place to reach them? #xl8 #2021goals
I’d like to work with more direct clients so am focusing on my marketing through CPD and implementing what I’ve planned, sit (and pass!) my #ITI translation exam and run over 500km
As we bring this year to an end, I’ve made a wee look back at the year, telling the story of 2020 through the words that shaped it.
