Quick Owen Marecic story. Back in 2009, our summer football workouts gave us two options: 6:30am or 4:30pm. Each session included lifting plus running/conditioning. These were Coach Turley workouts, so they were absolutely brutal. About halfway through the summer, I was talking with a teammate who mentioned Owen had been at the morning workout the day before. I said, “No he wasn’t - he was at the afternoon workout.” Turns out we were both right. Owen was doing both workouts. Every. Single. Day. He was the ultimate football sicko. A Stanford Hall of Fame-worthy player without question.
