I had a blast making this spoof intro to this week's episode of the Humanizing Work Show. Check out the full thing here: humanizingwork.com/agiles-th…

Orgs succeed or fail largely based on the quality of their #leadership. But most leadership teams aren't teams. They're leaders who have meetings. This week, we look at why & how to launch a cross-functional leadership team that achieves meaningful results. buff.ly/3Loj48r

I'm willing to bet that the best manager you've ever had shares the same qualities as the best manager most people have ever had.
They cared about you personally, saw your potential, nurtured you & help you grow, & greatly appreciated you.
So, why don't we all lead this way?

Folks attending Gerald Leonard's keynote at #GSGNOLA24, how was it? I was bummed I couldn't be there this year. Many of u know at SGNOLA 2014 I did an open space session on jazz & agile with a live band. I later refined that session & have done it as a keynote @ other conferences

We just used the Humanizing Work early feedback process again w/ a few longtime @HumanizingWork community members for a presentation @tptman is working on. It's just so fun & easy to get feedback this way. I love it.

David is low key one of the funnier guys I know, and even smarter. It was fun catching up to talk about testing business ideas, assumptions mapping, and how he comes up with his hilarious LinkedIn memes.
@davidjbland, author of “Testing Business Ideas” joins Peter and Richard on the Humanizing Work Show to talk about how to use Lean Startup-style experiments in any kind of business. Check out the episode! buff.ly/3PK4M4t
RIP to the great Danny Kahneman, original thinker, excellent collaborator, and co-inventor of the field of behavioral economics. Thinking Fast and Slow, for which he won the Nobel Prize for Economics, was a game changer for me.
Key phrase here: the motivation benefits outweigh the isolation risks. So as a general practice, remote & hybrid are positive. For a given individual or team, that may not be true, but there's no business justification for blanket back to work policies.

Difficult conversations are rarely as unpleasant as we expect.
7 studies: we're too pessimistic about leveling with friends & partners. We fixate on what could go wrong, overlooking what might go right.
Relationships stagnate in silence. Candor opens the door to growth.
This is a great idea for a session at the #GSGNOLS24 #GlobalScrumGathering: gsgnola24.com/agenda/session…. I wish I had thought of it!
When you commit to something you can't deliver on, you have one ethical option and two unethical ones. Ethical: renegotiate to reduce how much you've committed to. Unethical: cut quality of what you deliver, or cut your quality of life.
Thanks Alistair, it’s always a treat to chat with you!
This was such a well-orchestrated interview about user stories, use cases, and story maps, take a listen!

My SolarCity panels were one of the worst financial decisions I made, especially after moving to AZ. Now we're moving, and @Tesla customer support tells me they no longer honor the contract that says they'll move the panels to a new home. They said hire a contractor to do it.
