This is excellent work by our members in the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force and the many other units across the Service that played a role in this months-long investigation. I am grateful for their efforts, as every illegal firearm removed from our communities represents a potential act of violence prevented and helps make our communities safer.

It is Father’s Day and I thank all of our Toronto Police members who are spending today in service to our city and away from their loved ones. Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to keeping Toronto safe. Wishing our members and our community a very Happy #FathersDay.

Today’s arrest of Zara Jabbi marks another significant step forward in our firearm discharge investigation at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto. I want to thank the dedicated investigators and law enforcement partners who have worked tirelessly on this complex and far-reaching investigation. The investigation is active and ongoing. We remain committed to holding those responsible for this violence accountable.

These members represent the very best of the Toronto Police Service. We are very proud of them. Relying on their exceptional training they demonstrated courage and composure in a very dangerous situation. Thank you for what you do serving and protecting Toronto every day.

Thanks to our officers who were in the area as part of our increased deployment in Jewish neighbourhoods, we were able to respond immediately to gather critical information that led to this arrest, two days after the incident. We know how concerning attacks like these are to our communities. Our teams will continue to track down those responsible for such brazen acts of violence, stop them, and hold them accountable.

We are looking forward to a great event!
