🧡 Throughout October, visit a meaningful art display at the Health and Active Living Plaza (160 Jim Mortson Dr.), presented in partnership with The Family Place in Mount Albert in continuation from Celebrating the Arts. Created in collaboration with The Canadian Library, this community-led display serves as a visual memorial honouring Indigenous women and children who have been murdered or gone missing. Each covered book bears an individual name, acting as a personal memorial to a life lost. Through art, the display offers an opportunity for reflection, remembrance and learning while supporting the ongoing path toward reconciliation. We encourage residents to take time this month to visit the display and reflect on its important message. 🎉This Thanksgiving weekend just got a lot better! We’re excited to share that the Soldiers Bay (82 Queensville Sdrd.) Redevelopment Project is now complete. 🍁 #EG collaborated with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority to help create a healthier shoreline and incorporate environmental features throughout the site. They were also key partners in developing educational signage alongside Georgina Island First Nation, helping bring to life the significance of the Holland River and the surrounding area. Improvements include: ✅ Installation of an elevated boardwalk along the shoreline ✅Installation of a floating dock equipped with an accessible canoe/kayak lift to support inclusive, non-motorized recreational boating opportunities ✅Construction of a new asphalt parking lot to improve site access ✅Shoreline restoration and stabilization, drainage improvements, and native plantings ✅Installation of educational and interpretive signage We invite residents and visitors to explore the revitalized waterfront, connect with the area's natural and cultural heritage, and experience all that Soldiers Bay has to offer this fall. 🛶
