When I was in Y3,my favourite book in the world was The Witches by RD. I read it every night for 2years &slept with it under my pillow. I still treasure the battered copy. I often wonder what other books sleep under people's pillows& hope all childn have a book as loved as this❤

Really enjoyed this debut poetry collection by Julie Hare @tortoise1hare2. Loved the environmental theme running through the book. My class have already dipped into it several times for Poem of the Day. @redgierob

That is why I was delighted to welcome schools to the launch of WaveSEA, which aims to make Waveney Valley the first constituency where every school is developing a climate plan. Educators, environmental groups and community leaders are coming together to make it happen.

A firm favourite in Year 6 English: blackout poetry! There’s a step by step guide in @tortoise1hare2’s new book! What a genius idea 🤩. Can’t wait to perform one of these poems at the Cheetham summer poetry performance! Which one will it be 👀

Today is Endangered Species Day. An ideal day to pause and share a thoughtful poem -perhaps: The Pangolin or The Flight of The Last Bee or Plunder the Ocean or To the Hedgehog in my Garden or The Annual General Meeting of Wildlife Representatives (& dozens more) 💚 @LiteracyShed

Enclosed the veggie patch today to give us somewhere to contain the tortoise when we don't fancy having our toes bitten. He escaped within 5 minutes by climbing the rhubarb. 🙄🐢
